For me its nothing but an ordinary steel snare. I recall the Chad Smith snare being one of the most mediocre snares I came across. I was amazed Pearl released such specifications which does not make this snare unique other than its aesthetic attributes. Placing a glow in the dark feature on the graphics is somewhat childish for me.

Though I have not yet heard the snare itself I am speaking out of the available information that came with it. I am simply sharing my opinion.

hmmmm d ako impressed sa looks pa lang.. too childish.. hmm baesd on my expirience depth at width ang nagpapaunique sa isang snare.. for example mike magini which is a 10x5 sounding a heavy POP sound 13x6 na jj na power piccolo if tuned right way... hmmm naka test na din ako ng chad smith mejo d ako kuntento sa tunog muka lang siyang ordinary steel snare... kung ako sayo bro go for a maple or brass snare hehe or kung mag steel ka man its eihter a popcorn soprano free floating or a deep snare happy drumming..

Bro do you have replacemnt parts for the signature snares? May available ba na SR-015 for the Omar Hakim snare?

To all Omar Hakim users out there. How do you tune your snares? What head combo do you use? I'm getting lotsa overtone right now but I'm hesitant to use a coated powerstroke with reverse dot as it might kill the sound completely. I'm currently using a coated ambassador. Any tips and advise would be greatly appreciated.

I once tuned a Hakim snare.  A one-ply batter and a standard snare side head is always a great choice.  I did my usual medium-to-tight batter tension setting and medium tension snare side setting, and it worked well.  Also make sure that the snare wires are centered and its throw-off is set up properly.  Kung kailangan ng muffling, I suggest minimal muffling lang such as Moongel or a strip of tape.  And also, make sure that the drum is clean, inside & out.

Special talaga yang Omar Hakim snare mo, bro Rommell.

mga ser tanong ko lang sa mga may jj na snare lumuluwag din ba yng vent nung snare?? parang naiikot ko naksi yng akin e, dba dapat parang di gumagalaw to? nung binuksan ko napansin ko na di deroskas yng vent nya pano ko na to hihigpitan thx in advance!
