Sorry to say dude but its -1. Tone is equal to or more than playing. As they say, you get paid for being heard too and no amount of godly skills can get you re-booked if the audience has to painfully deal with your tone.. Any of the amps experts will tell you that videos do not capture the sound and feel of amps. Kung panay video ka lang, keep yourself to multieffects.
i would have to agree with this. it's not always about having mad skills to sound good. you can play very simple chords or licks but still wow an audience. music should always be pleasant to the ears of all listeners - performers and audience alike.
people here have to admit -
you need good equipment to sound good. but let me clear this up before you mob me -
good equipment need not be expensive, but they are definitely more expensive than crappy ones.
i've heard a lot of great musicians (in church, for example) that sound bad because of bad equipment. you can hear that they play smoothly but you just can't make yourself appreciate their music because of the bad sounding equipment they are using. it makes you say "sayang, kung mas maganda lang sana yung amp niya, lalo pang gaganda ang tunog niya.". this is true to all types of musicians, not just guitarists - vocalists, keyboardists, etc.
