I find Komets quite usable.  The trick is to crank the amp and use your guitars volume control to get cleans -- which does sound pretty good surprisingly.  Of course, if you want to match the amp to the venue then you either get the ultimate attenuator OR match to a more inefficient speaker cab.

Yes I'm aware that's the way they are supposed to be played. They are just known to be obnoxiously loud (especially just around the house) and as we all know, attenuators, even the Aracom will still not deliver the same tone as a dimed amp without the attenuator. There's just something to playing an amp the way it was made to be played when it's really moving some air.

I've traded emails with Pete Thorne on this several times and he definitely says Concorde if you can crank it up on stage, otherwise the K19 might be a better option... though tonally, from what I hear they don't sound the same!
