di ako makaantay, i opened my strat last night and this is what i saw

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l189/jents81/ad5e608d.jpg

naka CTS pots na pala at oakgrigsby switch, di ko na pala kelangan palitan yung electronics... i just installed the dublier cap and Mallory Metalized Polyester Capacitor for treble bleed.

again, i strongly recomment yung treble bleed and a nice capacitor... the treble remained almost constant on all volume levels, and the capacitor added some like a little grit which i couldn't explain...

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l189/jents81/5d42751d.jpg

soon i plan to change the pickups to fralins vintage hots though right now i'm still happy with the 57/62's

as a summary, to all those strat owners out there, heto yung may major improvement modifications sa tone imho

-tremolo block
-accurate saddles with long slots (yung stock pwede i modify to have longer slots though it's not pure steel)
-electronics (put a nice capacitor, treble bleed cap)
-springs (3 to 5 for more mass, sustain)
-bone nut

at least stock is good with that strat! quality parts and craftsmanship. question lang - is the body in satin finish or does it still have gloss with that thin nitro?

re improvements, i'm on my way to that. but basically those are the upgrades i did with my strat on a more affordable scale lang.  :-D

no pic, no advise...

May thin gloss finish pa rin bro but when i removed the pickguard, i noticed how thin it is compared to my previous strats. May excess gunk lang dun sa pickup cavities which i'll remove some other time.

nice. i'm sure you'll hear a difference

share ko lang.

i was fiddling with the springs last night, and got different tones just by adjusting the tension of the strings, as well as the angle of the bridge.

to tight = stiffer strings = snappier, quick response, bright
to loose = kabaligtaran nung sa taas  :)

best set up is the point where you achieve the snappiest most responsive tone, and most resonant. Not too tight, not too loose. this must be the reason why stock strings aren't that good, as they are to stiff, and tend to just pull the bridge plate towards the body, not giving it room to vibrate with the trem block.

this is just my observation, and it may not work on your guitar. though i'm happy with the results.

happy modding

Im not sure if this is the right thread to ask this but paki delete na lang kung hindi. Im planning to change the pickups on my guitar. Okay lang ba na mas mataas ang dc resistance ng neck pickup kesa bridge pickup? Thank you!

I'm planning to install a 2 post tremolo bridge to my standard 6 screw strat style bridge. Is this advisable?
