pics naman ng saddles bro  :)

titanium gets a lot of great reviews, may it be saddles or trem blocks... meron na bang titanium nut?

Wow, just realized na wala pala akong pics ng guitar ko. Makunan nga mamaya.

Not sure if there are titanium nuts

Sharing my DIY Roland GK-KIT-GT3 installation:
I bought an Epiphone Les Paul Plus Top FX/PRO from Rmansh, just for the purpose of installing the GK KIT

I drilled a hole beside the guitar input.  I wired the LP for one volume and one tone, and installed the GK volume and GK-guitar selector switch to the other holes.

I installed the GK pickup in reverse, I think it looks better.  Ah, I also replaced the stock pickups with SD Custom and '59.

I drilled a hole on the shoulder near the selector so I can easily route the wiring there, and installed the S1/S2 switch.

And I installed the GK LED at the back by poking a soldering gun to make a hole for the LED.  This is better than drilling another hole at the nice flamed maple finish.

i think they cool and meaner than the kluson.
i wanna experience why jimmy page/paul kossof/eric clapton (my guitar influences/idols) use grovers during those times. ang difference is very stable ang tuning ng grovers against klusons.

i did not like the tulip tip grover. pang les paul custom kasi ang itsura.
but i kept my r8 with its aged kluson para i have both.

vintage grovers look way way better than the new ones and kluson style tuners IMO.

Nice. Onga, pag tulip na chrome ay parang pang Custom...exactly what I will get for my LP.. lol.

Hahaha.. Sabi na nga ba, you'd go for functionality.. Mas sturdy nga daw yung mga ganyang tuners kumpara sa Kluson.  :-)

if you wanna go period correct - les paul custom should have waffle back tuners.
kidney beans look good on big headstock les paul customs
'68 ri LP custom i think waffle back or kidney bean tuners.

i have an extra 60's "pat pend" grovers that am planning to install sa r8.
am just looking for a way to age the chrome finish a bit

they are more tamed compared sa Mules. they are great pups but PGBlues nails the vintage tone better than the two (monday and Mule)

Hello fellow forum-ers!

beginner guitarist ako en meron po akong Squire bullet strat. One time nakahawak ako ng Fender Strat tapos napansin ko na ang gaan sa kamay pag nagpress ng strings, dikatulad dun sa strat ko. Naisip ko nasa bridge yung problem, ano bang tamang bridge setup..tsaka parang yung 1st string ko mas mahina yung volume than the rest. :|

for the playability issue, maybe it just needs proper set-up. try playing it again after set-up to check if mahina pa rin volume ng 1st string. if it still is, baka may issue na sa pickup.

I'm planning to change the electronics of my guitar.. So far I'm checking out possibilities of purchasing through Bossingboss.. Pero matanong ko lang, wala ba talga mga iyun sa 'Pinas? I'm planning to buy a les paul type upgrade/change, the basic:
  • Four 500k Bourns Pots
  • Two Drop Capacitors (dati I'm gassing for PIO caps.. but somewhere some said, placebo effect)
  • 3-way Box Toggle Switch (preferably black tip)
  • Switchcraft Jack
  • Wires

May nag-suggest sa akin nun, sa Audiophile daw.. Meron nga?

you can get Bourns pots from spankyrigor. check if he has stocks.
you can check Saturn/Return if he has the rest of your LP parts available.

Kinda hard to look for this import switch. Pero check www.epektos.com. Yung 3-way toggle switch nila dun should be almost the same.

MIK Epiphone Les Paul Standard

before...

after...

replaced all the cream plastic parts to black and installed Seymour Duncan Pickups ('59 in the neck and Duncan Distortion in the bridge)

I've always wanted a black LP Custom but I'm not a fan of the rectangular inlays. Problem solved! :-D

sadly, i had to sell the strat  to get the goldtop back

I will surely get callaham parts once i get the funds to get a custom shop strat. When i removed all the upgrades, the strat went from Oooh to ah? you get what i mean

Whoa, gauge 11???  :-o Anong strings yan men?

parang gusto ko na din lagyan ng bone nut ung lp at strat ko  after all that resistance.... ahaha

one quick observation whenever i change nuts is the string tension. Bone tends to make you up your string gauge. heaving strings, more tone, more body. and for an expensive guitar, it derserves a good nut, not plastic, not corian

i can help you install the nut, just buy the precut one in TYMUSIC. konting sanding na lang.

Can you share significant improvements since the bone nut installation? Thanks
I'm torn between bone and graphtechs

i haven't tried graphtech bro, but i prefer the looks of a bone nut.

a lot of discussions out there about bone nuts, saying it has no effect, coz it only affects open strings, oh well, it works for me, i feel a difference. both my lp's now have bone nuts.
