1604 is a classic piece of gear. built like a tank. a true workhorse both in the studio and on the road.

yes i know.. and ngcanvas na ako dati pa and syempre inalam sino pinakamababa.. i know some local distro's too.. i was to buy the behringer xenyx 2442fx but through thorough research, it lacks inputs and function.. just a waste of money for my project... so im eyeing on good investment mixer which are mackie mixers..

yun nga din ang nakita ko sa mga reviews.. yung faders mabilis masira. thats why im worrying. but this model is really good for recording and for sound mobiles...

If you need a mixer for live gig/home recording, try checking this new phonic helix board firewire mixer. Specs: 24 inputs, 18 preamps, 18 track simultaneous recording.

http://www.music123.com/Phonic-Helix-Board-24-FW--i241894.music

I setup an older model of phonic mixer in our church youth room and now 4 years still OK. Pretty rugged.

I've just got Phonic Helix 12 Firewire at home for recording and I'm quite satisfied.

ang alam ko mahina ang headroom ng Phonic, ewan ko kung nag improve na, the last time kasi na bumili kami ng friend ko, di ako nasatisfy.. Siguro ok na sya naun..

The older model mixer Phonic MR2443 I will score 8 out 10, perhaps a higher score until our church bought Yahama 01v96 digital mixer which is a WOW.

The new Helix Board which I've got is design for recording in mind but you've got all you need for live gig no compromise.

I have no issue of headroom for live, but for recording it would be better if this helix board have a bit of headroom flexibility. For my model 12FW I need to set my gain to 3 o'clock using my SM58 which is not a problem (-15~-12 dB) I still get no noise in this level. I believe this is not an issue once I use a condenser mic which is a must for a professional result. No headroom problem for my instruments.

Yes it comes with Cubase LE.

Mackie is a good mixer but I think is too much for the price.

Just make it a point NOT to download the LE update. First time I ever saw an update with reduced capabilities.

Your church uses an 01V96?    It'd be interesting to see those faders fly during a mass. (whatever happened to the vow of poverty?)

Yes the faders fly...you're right! and I think this is one of the interesting part of this mixer (show off...this is digital!   ). Once is set I save the setting...next day you turn on.. then press the recall button then I'm set. It tooks me some time to use comfortably of this great gear. My friend got one he recommend it then we buy for the church. This gear is a GEM!

You can contact Tarkuz.

Sound & Music People is the ex-Mackie distributor, however, they still have ample stocks of Mackie.

The Mackie 1604 is a good mixer.  I have several Mackie mixers and all perform quite well, which we use for location recording.  The only thing to watch out is the pin 1 problem.  Sometimes, because of manufacturing methods, the pin 1 (ground) is not connected.  It is just a matter of soldering it and everything is solved.  For field use, recording or mobile, I'd go for proven analog set ups meantime.

FWIW.
