Bloodshedd, I got a text from Bel Sayson, marketing manager of JB about that M-Audio event (product launch ba? cocktails?) at Capone's on Oct 28. Can you arange for our main man and moderator of this forum KitC to get get an invite as well? Tutal you guys get a lot of exposure on this board! Paki PM mo lang si Kit and get his contact info.

I visited the Quad carpark branch last friday and I saw several products that were not advertised in JB's site like the FW 1814, Audiophile 192 and Aries; talked to Norman. Maganda sana if your site product listings were updated. Just a heads up, bro.

Re: the website.. That's why I'm posting info about the stuff here.. Plus, I think that even before these products have arrived @ JB, Many of you (even including me) have researched this stuff from the M-AUDIO website and other sources...

Ohh... One thing I was busy about was the seminar...

The M-AUDIO guys arrived and they have conducted a product orientation seminar.. I was already @ MOA and the management  asked me to come do some stuff, play guitar and ask some questions regarding M-Audio products on such short notice.. (try going from MOA to Cubao in less than 1 hour!)

I am really a guitar guy but the keyboard stuff really sealed the deal.. Soft synths are on my next project!!!
one more word...PROTOOLS...

They were right.. if you are really serious about your stuff then you should have Protools... They talked about lots of professional scenarios wherein business was done in the PROTOOLS language..

Im not really a recording guy so this might be old stuff to you people..(i just want my band's recordings to sound good!!)

We would also be setting up some PROTOOLS setups in stores so that you can demo our products in action..SOON!!

M-Audio Product Launch

Just came from JB's formal launch of their PRS and M-Audio product line. I finally got to meet our esteemed admin, pinoymusika, and bloodshedd. Thanks for the invite, Byke! It was an interesting orientation cum jam session. I particularly liked the Ableton Live jam, now that was good. Ira (of Bamboo's band) did PRS good during that jazz-infused Ableton Live jam. Overall, I'd say the introduction of M-Audio heralds good for local musicians seeking affordable controllers and computer recording solutions. Keep it up, guys!

tnx mr. Kit!!! ..but I think the guitarist ur referring to is Mike Elgar of Rivermaya.

We also had a jam earlier that night. William (the chinese guy of M-Audio) played some funky synth keys, I played bizzaro guitar licks and Benjo ( the dj with turntables) spun some grooves that ranged from hiphop, house and some weird elctronica stuff.

Mr. Kit asked me about the dynamics in the controllers... I posed the same question to one of my co-workers and he said that he tried them and their just fine. He also pointed out that it might be William's playing because Chris (the other M-Audio guy) was playing some of the piano patches the day before and they sounded good.

We did the equipment setup earlier and did the breakdown... there are some bands that played and jammed after the launch.
I ended up getting really drunk.. with 6-7 beers and half-filled bottle of J. Walker Black Label, I went home around 6am. On a happy note...I was working the whole time... which is really nice because the work part melds with my passion.

nyco maca.. yup... I liked the vocals personally..gave their sound a jazzy bent.
I'll probably do something electronica too.. I remember doing the beats and soundscapes in my cousin's rap group... I wish I had some software then..

Not personally, no. The internet can make good friends out of strangers, even here.

I also mod in the Production Forums, it's an international forum, but I've earned quite a few friends in the US, Europe and Australia. Not bad for a home boy, eh?  :wink:
