Any Eraserheads fans? or Slash fans?
« on: October 24, 2012, 03:43:20 PM »
Hi everyone,

I'm a 21 year old Filipino guitarist living in Australia. I love OPM bands pero ba't parang di na ata sila na-aaprecciate ng karamihan ng mga pinoy? Are people not into OPM anymore or am I wrong?

Check out my Eheads covers with an American singer here:
SEMBREAK: http://youtu.be/rXwrI4ScHdw
ALAPAAP : http://youtu.be/bO6yNoq3plo
TORPEDO: http://youtu.be/yF4xi7zqmes

And if there's any Slash fans out there. Check out this playlist of my Slash covers:

I also have some original music on my YouTube page!

Salamat po!

i saw Torpedo and that was really cool man! really unexpected... you should smile more on your videos though, cause it looked like you were playing metal or something lol

as to answer your question: hmmm, the mainstream hasnt been promoting good filipino bands lately, so the interest took a dive. theres no shortage of good OPM music though... its just they are harder to find, and the genres have branched out from the "Beatles" formula of chords and melody, like what eheads used to do.

anyway, i wonder if you have heard of Spongecola ... they arent as active lately, but this one of their songs that i really like (i also really like the music video)

Hey IncX,

Thanks! Yea I agree about smiling more. But I find it hard to fake my emotions just for a video. I'm not a good actor haha. But if I was covering these songs live with people singing along and getting into the music then I'd have a different look on my face.

Yea I'm familiar with Spongecola and other Pinoy bands. Itchyworms are great and should be bigger than what they are today. But I think looks is the biggest factor in music nowadays. If they looked like One Direction or something and still played the same Itchyworms music. I bet they would be way bigger. It's a sad fact about today's music industry.
