Author Topic: Panget ba talaga tumunog ang RJ Guitar? (Read 64068 times)

I was at southmall last night. I was pulled in when I saw a Gibson korina V ready for playing at their testing area. ok naman siya, could use a good setup (frets are a bit rough)...if di lang ako nagtitipid for something else, binili ko na dapat sya pang harabas. but what really got me was a Gibson lp junior double cut copy for less than 9k!!! saying hindi ako sumilip nung sale nila last weekend!!! in my opinion, with a little TLC, RJ's can sound good and they can be a reliable all around guitar. its just a guitar...you have to make it work.

mejo madali lang naman mag promote sa social media eh haha,

pero baka nagbabasa rin sila dito, pinaka madaling exposure is to do contest of sorts, kahit simpleng premyo lang (guitar cable,capo,strings), to enter pls share this etc etc. do this every week, and ang reach mo will double triple kahit wag kanang mag tv,radio ad.

I tested my brother in-laws RJ PREMIUM ACOUSTIC, nabili nya nung may 50% sale. IMHO, for its price maganda ang tunog and kahit hindi na isetup.

i was in southmall a few days ago. tamang tama natapat ako sa 50% off na sale. pila nga lang. My wife and i were planning to buy a ukelele since Half price nga. But when i checked it hindi ako nasulitan. the price tag was 3.7k. Kahit half price i didn't think it was a good deal.

Ang daming tao!! pero Sobra bagal ng staff as in. I lined up for 30mins. Ang nakita ko lang na worth the wait in-line are the strings!! The Ernie ball slinky's at 150 a set! The D'addarios 165 a set!. Got me 6 sets since 3 items lang per person( me and kumander)

i've tried yung RJ BluesBreaker which is worth 11k, the grains looks good. Actually eye catching yung wood ok yung finish though yung
parts like knobs and tuners are like MEH.

Tried it on both clean and distorted sound, and i'm surprised that it sounds good for the price, for me it's on par with an epiphone studio model at most. If you were able to get that on the 50% price which would cost you 5.5k, i could say it's worth it. Pero of course this is without consideration of the durability since i don't own one.

What about the tuners you didn't like, for future buyer reference?

The closed tuners on my RJ LP is very stable, lube on the nut is all that's needed. Have had no issues with string spacing or nut break angle, but these are areas future buyers might look into, if RJ quality control is all over the place.

The LP I bought was set up horribly. The nut wasn't glued to the neck

, It was only being held in place by the tension of the strings which might explain why tuning the guitar properly was next to impossible (Maybe it wasn't the tuners fault after all). There were lots of string buzzes and dead spots sa higher frets plus it was set up with the action as high as our taxes.

I bought the guitar around 2010-2011 back when I had ZERO knowledge about guitars. Only realized I bought a lemon after reading about guitar set up sa web. Still loved it to bits though, siguro may ganong magic talaga pag first guitar haha

I have no idea kung nagimprove na yung quality control ng RJ pero sana they at least set-up the guitars since madami sa consumers nila is first-time guitar buyers or beginners.
