not to compare or something.. un lang unang pumasok sa isip ko..

All good! Haha. :-(

But really, there ain't a 'guitar for beginners'. Basta siguraduhin mo na decent at maganda ang playability ng gitara mo regardless of what brand it is. Then from there, darating na dyan yung consciousness mo pagdating sa tone, feel and GAS. Hahaha.

Goodluck!

hi guys!

I tried to learn how to play the guitar but wasn't able to continue because of some factors...

I wanted to start from scratch so I have some questions:

1. electric or acoustic to start with?
2. what brand of guitar, ie lumanog or ibanez?
3. what song?
4. will online study work or hire someone (for free :P)

Thanks in advance!

 :-D

1. electric or acoustic to start with?

Start with an acoustic. Why? its cheap, simple, and all you need is just the guitar. It also strengthens the fingers as you go along..get you tough callouses! Nylon string, or steel string folk  is not an issue, its the same..just go out and try one of each and decide what type you feel comfortable with...

2. what brand of guitar, ie lumanog or ibanez?

If you have a budget, i suggest start with good established brands, stay away from lumanogs as in my opinion its difficult to find a superior sounding and long lasting guitar from them...try mall stores, or guitars sold here..t least they are properly built to a certain standard which is "katanggap tanggap".

Getting a good guitar from the very start, inspire you more, and gets you better sound..na maappreciate ng mga listeners mo..and it will last you years and years of enjoyment...

3. what song?

Beatles, Eheads, simple folk songs, could help to get you started...learning A, C, D, G, E open chords could get you playing a few popular songs already...

If youre familiar with the movie JUNO...theres this song there by the Moldy Peaches...its just G-C all the way...

Easy to learn, its cute, its sophisticated, it can impress..check it out..

since youre already hanging out here, you could check out the classifieds...there are tons of items of every shape and size and brand you could check out...

yeah mall stores..music stores of course..the popular ones...the big ones..music chain stores...for convenience..

urban legend lang yung Lumanog na yan...na hype up lang yan...actually ok lang naman...for 2k may guitar ka na..kung magsawa ka man..pwede na i-junk...ok lang..depende naman sa "Goal" mo..and budget...

Do you think Lumanog and other stagnant guitar makers are just wasting wood?

1.) Acoustic! Less things to worry about! Easier to carry around as well.
2.) How much is your budget so we can help you decide?
3.) If it's your first time, choose songs without barre chords. You can use a capo para magtranspose ng chords if merong barre chords yung gusto mong kanta.

They are an okay acoustic for the price. Syempre don't expect high quality for that price point. Pero puede na for beginners. Just stay away sa RJ acoustics.

But if you can stretch the budget to 5k, may mabibili ka na na mas maganda.

hmmmm gusto mo pala magshred...

remember kung electric bibilhin mo...additional 5-6k uli to get a decent amplifier..

Hi Donna,

Pwede kita turuan!

On topic: +1 for making your budget at 5-6k. Don't settle for those cheap acoustics.

Masarap mag-gitara pag komportable yung kamay mo.

Yung Talent ng Epiphone nasa 4k-5k yun.

Marami nun sa Lazer. Check one out minsan. :)
