In your experience, what's the most reliable strap lock? What's the cheapest? What's the easiest to install?

Forgot to mention, I'll be using a Levy's leather strap so mas makapal siya. May pinagkaiba ba? Or same lang ding type ng strap lock ang gagamitin ko?

This is in conjunction with the OP's question. A friend who works in the music store advised me not to use those strap locks that will require a re-drill/re-thread. As it would compromise the wood. Any truth about this?

I'm using schaller strap locks. I feel secured using this and very easy to install. No drilling required.

based on personal experience, a few toothpicks and some white/wood glue can keep strap buttons on securely for a long time, I wouldn't worry too much about re-drilling.

Meron akong Dunlop Straplok for the SG pati sa isang acoustic ko.

Meron din ako nito (w/c is cheap. 300php lang ata sa RJ to):

for my other acoustic guitars

For me, basta naka-install ng maayos yung strap lock o hindi basta natatanggal, mahal man o mura eh ayos na yun.

Just buy 2 Grolsch beers and get the gaskets out of it. Should look like this:

PS. By the way, I've been using gripper buttons ever since. 2.97 USD for a pair.. never failed me

For me, I'd go with Schallers.  However, if they only had more choices I'd go with the Planet Wave straps with built-in end-locks.  I also play Bass so all my straps are wide and thick (at least 3 inches) leather Levys.  Installing Schallers are a pain, but once they've been torqued down wala ka nang hahanapin pa.

Using ernieball straplocks. No problems so far. I've been using them on all of my guitars for 3yrs now. No redrilling required.

I use thick and wide Levy's leather straps for my guitars, but I still install straplocks on them. It's a PITA to get them in but when they're in, they're staying there.

I use Schaller straplocks. I have tried Dunlop straplocks before, but I felt that it's mechanism might be flawed in the long run (though I've never seen it happen). I'm worried that the shaft that goes inside the strap button might break due to the weight of the guitar. Unlike Schaller's design where it supports the strap button by "cupping" it.

Been a Schaller user since 2007, no problems so far.

Schaller copies. free kasi sa mga nabili kong gitara.

kaso bakit ganun parang kapos lagi  yung haba ng shaft ng straplock at naikot pa yung button. maybe i have to buy the real deal.

Gardenia Lock.. :-D

Yes. Loaf fasteners or plastic bread bag clips. By far the cheapest and easiest to install. :-D

My Suhr's Dunlop straplocks have failed me. One of the contacts slipped and my Suhr Modern fell to the ground. Now my guitar has several deep dings. It's so frustrating.

Ernie Ball Superlocks and Schaller are much better than Dunlop.

Do you actually use this? I think the Grolsch/washer method is better. I find Gardenia locks flimsy.  :-)

this is true for DiMarzio as they are using bigger screws. Whenever i'm installing this I will still use the STOCK screws so the hole will not get bigger/deeper.
