share lang ako..
i'm part of Word Community Church Pasig. drummer ako sa youth namin. anyway, nagka financial problems yung church namin, and because of this kinakailangan na nilang magtanggal ng mga pastors sa church. 3 people resinged, and 2 were transferred to Word Community Church Metro East. isa sa mga sapilitang natanggal sa duties nila yung youth pastor namin and yung praise and worship pastor ng church. this was the outcome because our church council didn't act on it at once. ang lungkot talaga. so yun lang

I'm really sorry to hear that but I'm sure that God has a plan for them...maybe it's a trial for those people...mahirap nga lang talaga pag andun ka sa situation na ganun...

Let's just pray for them na sana everything will work out fine and within the Lord's favor....God Bless....

baka nabubuhay sa kasalanan yung mga natanggal. kaya nagkaron kayo ng financial problem sa church..

well,
i asked the question since some argue that we are dedicated to Christ,
and we should use our talents for His purpose only,

but same thing,
i also have no worries with playing secularly,

i'm just bothered with the mindset of separating ourselves with those whom we need to reach,

sabi nga ni sir akira,
hindi maganda pakinggan,
maybe because of the unhealthy environment,

but maybe you could tell me,
bakit po ba ganto ang tingin sa mga gospel drummrs na tumutugtug sa bars?

Dipende talaga sa tao yan. Not all Church musicians who also play on bars are "bad". Let's try not generalize/stereotype these kinds of musicians. Kilalanin muna natin ang bawat tao, before we go and say something about them.

matagal nang issue yan... sagot diyan depende... marami nang nagkasakitang musicians and church leaders dahil diyan... depende kasi sa tao yun... conviction mo lang... we can't blame other musicians lalo na pag talagang it's their work... although meron din naman kasing ibang musicians na gusto lang talaga mag gig... pero we're not to judge... kumbaga accountable na ang church leaders nila dun... if they gave their blessing no prob... if hindi, it's another issue.

To all church drummers invite me po kau sa "pinoy_christiandrummergroups" Member po me ng Pinoydrums, i notice po na masaya at informative ang pinoydrums. naisip me po na gumawa ng christian drummer groups, at least ma update po tau sa mga songs natin. pd rin po sharing ng mga drum tab,lessons,Q&A, etc. anything na makakatulong sa ating Praise & Worship!

jeff here, drummer ng University Baptist Church sa may Morayta and 100% PK (pastor's kid, bwahekhekhekek). pero ngaun i'm more into worship leading, ubos na worship leaders namin e...We're baptist but we rock as hard as everybody..hahahah. nice thread guys, drumtalk with matching christian/musician issues...

my take on this is you don't put the lamp underneath the table but instead put it somewhere where its light will shine.. i have nothing against people that play exclusively in churches, if that's your calling, then well and good. but if you think you could serve God more by ministering to your fellow musicians in the secular world, then go..take P.O.D.'s case for example, nung nag start pa lang sila, a Christian label offered to sign them, but they respectfully declined, saying that signing with them might be financially lucrative but it would defeat their true call, which is to spread God's word to the unbelievers, and they chose to go the indie way until they got signed by secular labels and look at POD's market now, they appeal to both christian and mainstream crowd...sorry if im being preachy here, can't help it.hahaha.. hope this helps...

Para sa akin I respect the decision of the musicians who play outside the church specially on bars
Wala naman pinagkaiba yun sa mga missions sa mga mangyans or ibang natives natin,
yun e mission din para naman sa mga outside musicians.
Even Jesus did that, he ate together with the taxpayers and sinners.
He came here to heal the sick.
Sana yun ang motive nila.
But for me I play only for Christ. Amen.

1. Are tithes only for your church only or you can give a certain percentage
to mission man or para-churches?
2. Pano naman kung 2 ang church mo? I mean pag-weekends dun sa isa tapos malayo trabaho kaya involve naman sa kabila church pag weekdays? Kanino mo ibigay tithes? or pede ba hati?
Mas in-need yung church for weekdays kse nagstart pa lang, tapos yung isa dami na supporters and members.

Alam ko kse They are all God's Storage.

Ako bro I simply believe in "giving what you can." (we used to be on old doctrine church with specific tithe duties)

Anyways God can see what the church can't, even if you gave on one church and not on the other you still contributed to the House of God. Pero kung pwede dalawa ang bigyan mo if you are able then good for you bro!

I salute your concerns bro! Bibihira ang mga tao that are very serious with tithing

it's been a long time since i've been in this thread...

i can see there are alot of discussions going on...

i'd like to organize my thoughts first about musicians playing in bars before posting it since it's a very delicate matter. it's really a good topic...many church musicians should post their take on this...and i see there has been already.
