Super Newbie Question about PA system
« on: June 03, 2014, 03:12:39 PM »
Here is the situation mga sir,

We currently building our own practice studio and my problem is what is a good and cheap set-up for vocal speakers? I'm a really newbie when it comes to mixer, speakers, power amplifier, etc.

Based on my research, i can go with a powered mixer + passive speaker. Not really sure if this would work

Not really looking for a professional sound output, basta maayos at di naman sabog or masyadong mahina yung labas ng vocals

Thanks in advance

Here is the situation mga sir,

We currently building our own practice studio and my problem is what is a good and cheap set-up for vocal mics? i'll be needing at least 2 mics. I'm a really newbie when it comes to mixer, speakers, power amplifier, etc.

Based on my research, i can go with a powered mixer + passive speaker. Not really sure if this would work

Anu po bang mga dapat kong i consider sa pagsset-up? Not really looking for a professional sound output, basta maayos at di naman sabog or masyadong mahina yung labas ng vocals

Hello Sir,

You might want to look at the SAMSON R21S.

It's a 3 piece Dynamic Microphone package that's great for vocals. it costs around 2k for the 3 piece with a hardcase. sounds great if you ask me.
hahaha ako binibiyak ko muna yung wetpaks para makita kung may yellow thingy hahahaha

ay. hahaha well, to answer your question, gagana yung Powered mixer plus passive speaker na combo. however, be wary of the wattage of both equipment.

Passive mixer + Powered speaker will do.

Powered mixer + Passive speaker will do.

Passive mixer + power amplifier + passive speaker will do.

just groove with it and everything will be allright...

read this first bro.

Sir double check ko lang yung pagkakaintindi ko.

Pwedeng mas mataas yung wattage  nung speaker sa mixer OR mas mataas yung wattage ng mixer sa speaker as long as indi sya nag-cclipping?

mas okay na mas mataas ang wattage ng Mixer/Amp kesa sa speaker para may headroom pa yung amp/mixer for higher volumes. im assuming kasi you'll be using this in a band setting. so pag malakas wattage ng speaker mo tapos mahina ang wattage ng amp mo, maaaring mag introduce ng unwanted noise or clipping yun sa sound mo.

Pwede ba yung ganitong combination:

power amplifier + passive speaker

If pwede, what are the Pros or Cons ng ganitong set-up versus powered mixer+ passive speaker?  :cute:

just groove with it and everything will be allright...

thank you for the reply sir, but my main concern is about the speakers+mixers needed for vocals..

Please consider. Thank You.

well, i have to agree with Tarkuz's statement. mas madali naman talaga pag bundled na yung gamit.

pero as much as possible, sana wag natin iencourage yung "wag nang pagalaran yung science beyond how it works" na mentality. oo mas madali naman talaga yung packages. pero knowing the principles of how it works will help to avoid future difficulties din.

I know this comment is directed to me, however, I am very willing to educate and provide technical advice to end-users about professional audio if they are interested. No problem.

Well taken sir. yung statement mo lang above just seems to encourage the mindset na "bilhin mo nalang. wag mo nang aralin". 2 cents lang sir.
