Advice on Church PA
« on: February 10, 2016, 08:45:19 AM »
Hi all,
Need advice on our church PA settings. Current setup po is:
PA: Fender Passport PD-250 plus http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/491918-REG/Fender_069_3001_000_Passport_PD_250_Plus_Portable.html
1 Guitar, 1 Keyboard, 1 Drummer.
Guitar & keyboard are directly plugged dun sa PA. Dun sa isang sulok sa stage, dun po kami nka saksak sa what I presume po is a DI box (puro XLR inputs). From that box, snake runs to the PA sa front of house. We're not using any guitar effects. Just straight up dry sound.
Church chapel fits around 100 persons more or less

We're a small church of around 100 active members.
Pag pinakikinggan, parang the sound is "muddy".

baka snake cable lang yun (typically with xlr inputs), then connected to your Pa system.
kung medyo mahaba ang cable run nyo, may signal losses yan lalo pa mahina naman ang output ng pick up ng electric guitar. baka isang dahilan to kung bakit muddy yung sound nyo.
make sure to connect your instruments sa DI to match the impedance of your instrument sa input signal na kailangan ng mixer.

short term solution is to borrow a di box, and try if there's an improvement sa sound. if medyo maging maayos ang tunog, try to invest in these boxes depending on the number of your instruments. long term solution is to save for a much better PA system.
