depende sa song na siziprahin..pero i think mas madali kung sisiprahin ko muna ung mga chord pattern ng song tas saka ko i aaply yung mga laro ng bassline nya atleast my guide na ako it helps me para mapa dali ang pag sipra lalo pg mahirap ung song.

masarap sumifra yung mga songs na walang guitar parts. hehehe. pero lalabas naman yung creative juice mo.

but seriously, depende rin sa condition mo pag-sifra, deretso sulat agad ako, saka bubugbugin ko ng pakinig yung songs.

around 10 years ago nang first time ako ma recruit sa variety band. (galing syempre sa rock) feeling ko madali lang ung mga songs. sa isang angulo, madali nga. nakuha ko agad ung mga chords ng 16 songs sa isang araw... ung 'feel' nun ang hindi ko nakuha. (ang tigas daw ng tipa ko at wala sa groove) at ung actual na maalala ko sya pag pinatugtog mo sa akin. since then hindi na ako nag-bother bilangin kung gaano kadami ang kaya kong siprahin sa isang araw. even though nag improve na ako since that time (sa tingin ko) marami pa rin akong sakit na di ko na matangal.

mga sakit:
-may sarili pa rin akong groove na kusang lumalabas (madalas nagcocompliment at minsan kumokontra sa rhythm/valor ng kanta)
-hindi na ako makatugtog ng plakadong guitar adlib/solo, dahil sa sa ehem... (1: hindi ito dahil sa hindi ko kaya, kumokontra lang sya sa natutunan kong pilosopiya, 2: mabilis ako maumay sa paulit ulit na ginagawa)

Ad lib» or «ad libitum» is Latin meaning «at one's pleasure ». In a musical context it means to be able to play freely for as long as you'd like...
(naka-pattern naman kahit paano sa orig na solo ung gawa ko due to respect to the original artist)

-hindi ko pa rin matandaan kaagad ang isang kanta maski nasipra ko na. (kung hindi ko siya kayang patutugin sa isip ko, hirap din akong tugtugin siya. kaya kailangan ko munang bugbugin sa pakikinig ung isang song habang may ginagawang iba.

-mabagal pa rin akong bumasa t sumulat ng nota. well hindi ko naman kasi inaaral e. (ayokong may binabasa sa stage, pakiramadam ko recital at hindi gig/show/entertainment)

mga natutunan/ nadevelop: (at lahat to e up to a certain level lang syempre. hindi kasama sa bilangan ung mga jazz (gustong pakingan pero walang balak tugtugin, ) at overly complicated na rock- (sawa na at iniwan ko na 10 years ago)

-nakaka recognize ako ng chord/progression ng walang hawak na instrumento
-kaya kong sumipra from memory
-kaya kong habulin ang isang kanta habang may kumakanta (kadalasan sa stage na mismo at marami rin akong natutunan na kanta sa ganitong paraan...)
-on the spot chord substitution/ rearrangement (pag tinotoyo at nasa mood)
-may panahon din na 'nakakanta' ko ung adlib/ improvisasion ko (di ko alam ung proper term e, basically nagiimprovised solo at minamouth ung ginagawa ko sa gitara ng sabay...)

i can tune a guitar without a tuner accurate within a few cents, memorize ko lang ang pitch ng G string and tune the guitar from there

regarding cipra cipra thingy.... i dunno. i think i can decently cipra a song, but for tough songs syempre hehehe consult-the-local-guitar-virtouso na ang ginagawa ko.

tapos minsan si Mr Google tinatanong ko.

for me that depends on how much I wanted to play the song... if its something that I consider the least of my interest, kahit na basic lang siya, it may take sometime, pero kahit technical basta gusto, kaya... or should i say kakayanin.

Ahmmm... kahit may karamihan na nasifra ko, i think to myself slow pa rin ako dito. ewan ko ba kung bakit, pero sa tingin ko mas nadadalian ako sumifra kapag mga lead parts kesa sa chord prog. hehe...

for me depende sa song, and depende kung gustong gusto ko tlga ung kanta.

kapag napipilitan lang ako sifrahin ung kanta, kadalasan matagal and vice versa..

i once got invited to 'session' for a band from las vegas who was playing in california for a week. they didn't have a regular guitar player and the ones that they had either had other gigs or they didn't want to fly out to california for a gig that's only worth $750.

i got the word 12 hrs before the gig...they gave me a songlist of 70 songs, most of them i haven't played before but maybe a little bit familiar lang.

so my system was...

i picked the songs that i knew were gonna be hard to learn, and concentrated on those...learn the chords and wrote down a "kodigo" para di mahirapan sa mismong gig. ang madugo ko na piyesa sa kanila is "rapture" by anita baker. as in palpak noong first gig...anlamig pa ng kamay ko.

anyway to make a long story short..

nag-lock in ako with the band by wednesday...we started monday. and by friday, i was singing "mustang sally" and "jump" by van halen...

and hanggang ngayon, ako pa rin gitarista nila.....

may mga kilala akong ganyan. cguro mas prefer ng tenga nila ang note for note lead parts kesa chord progression..

my experience naman is kinuha ako ng banda ng friend ko as replacement sa gitarista nila, pinacifra ako ng umaga, tugtug sa gabi sa gig.

having joined the choir in highschool really helped me when it came to guitar...lalu sa pagkapa ng tones...pag may kinakapa ako ginagawa ko i hum the note or chord then i just find it on the guitar..may mga nakasama na nga ako sa mga battle na guitarists sabi nila "wow...ganyan mo ba play yung song na yan panu mo nakuha yan?ganito ko kasi play yan etc.. etc... "

nahasa talaga ko sa choir...
