i honestly had no idea where to start..i wana learn naman..no back ground in elect whatsoever...hobbist lang n i like bulding stuff...grad na ko sa model cars and tanks hahaha.

start by learning how to solder.. actually, building a pedal is quite advanced na kahit yung pinakasimpleng booster lang.. try mo muna mag-aral magsolder and practice on guitar electronics.. mas simple yun kasi wires lang pinaglalaruan mo dun..

a good 30-45 watt soldering iron, some lead, and a soldering paste.. start there.. budget, 500 petot..

siguro oo uubra, kaso di ko sure ano tunog pag max ang gain pot.
start ka 5k sa R9, pababa sa 2.2k.

i disagree.. start on building pedals na kaagad.. my first build is a zendrive.. its just easy.. trust me.

well.. there are some who don't have access to etching on a PCB or are having a hard time with the parts and all.. nevertheless, we can start anywhere.. i just think that learning how to solder should start first with small things.. less cost, less damage, less frustration if not done properly.. ymmv.

to those with zero knowledge..it wont hurt to start from the very basic..soldering it is..very basic ang soldering pero i believe very critical sa magiging outcome ng project..
regarding component values,there's alot of softwares that can help for the computations kung tinatamad kayo mg manual compute

sa mga may knowledge na like most probably mga engineering students na nakapg hands on na e d project na agad..

hey man,
una, familiar yourself with basic components.. Resistors, Capacitors, Semiconductors, Jacks, Switches, PCB (Printed Circuit Board), alamin mo lang how they look, kahit wag ka na mag-research ng sobra sa kanila. next time na yun, hehe..

dont know how to fabricate pcb there are tutorials out there.. Referring to pcb fabrication.

Strictly for academic purposes, can someone PM me the specifics of the tri-gain MT-2 mod?  I had the monte allums one before, when all the DIY stuff was new to me.  I thought it sounded good, I'd now like to know why.     Much appreciated if someone could help me out!

bro nakita ko na schematic ng okko diablo, eto to help you out on increasing gain stage, para sa akin lang ito ha, pero try mo na din, hehe..

kita mo yung encircled resistors, lower R7 into half of its value. double the value of R9, lower value of R18.  isa-isahin mo ha. wag sabay-sabay.
pero tingin ko R7 and R9 ang susi, common source JFET amplifier yung gain stage, higher RD(R9) means more gain.
last resort mo na baguhin yung R18 bro. unahin mo R7 and R9.



or pwede din change gain pot to 1M

COOL! If only FETs are replaced with BJTs, pwede pa ako magbigay ng opinyon. Diodes, BJT, and OpAmps lang covered ng analog electronics namin. Swerte mo talaga Ron!

gusto ko ung feel pag hinuhugot ung plug di tulad ng nabibili sa alexan or deeco..
