Personally, ang grupong dapat nang bigyan ng tribute ay ang Juan de la Cruz band.

Baka sila daw ang bigyan ng Dangal ng Pilipino Award ng Awit Awards this year.

The bigger question would be:

SINO ANG MGA MAGBIBIGAY NG TRIBUTE? Also, kailangan mas hanep ang tribute version than the original, ha?

Nilabas ng Vicor ang the Best of Juan de La Cruz - compilation ng best of from their four (five?) albums.

Naglipana rin ito sa lahat ng pirata.

One of the best tributes na hindi masyado na pansin was the Hotdog tribute.

ey bitoy musta na meyn? ginawan namin ng version ang isang kanta ng JDLC for a compilation.. tagal ng tapos yung recording/mixing nung song pero ala pa kami balita kung kelan ang release.

but it would be nice though kung may isang buong tribute album ang juan dela cruz

dapat yung mgging radio station partner ng tribute album ng kahit sino sa mga naisip nyo ay NU107.. sila ang magsasabi sa producers kung sinong band/artist ang sakto sa tunog or kayang bgyan ng justice yung songs dahil kabisado nila almost lahat ng banda.. pero kung ako.. at kung wolfgang ang uunahin.. isa sa gusto kong magcover eh yung monkey spank.. kasi narinig ko sa pnsan ko na ang galing daw nila nung ngcover sila ng wolgang songs.. yung drummer daw ang galing pumalo.. kuha daw ung song.. pero kwento lang sa saken un..

Good ang mga suggestions ni musikanitwist. One of the things considered as basis for a tribute album is the number of hits the artist has. Sam had a string of hits, many of them not that familiar to the young crowd. Having a tribute now would re-introduce her music to a new audience - parang yung APO tribute album.

I have always thought of the possibilities of making a Yoyoy Villame tribute. Ito ang maganda ipagawa sa mga rock; blues at punk na grupo. Kailangan talagang ibahin niyo ang areglo nito dahil novelty ang original flavor nito. I am a little worried though about getting the copyrights, mechanicals especially. Ang dami kasing ginawa si Yoyoy na adaptation e.g. Butchikik - definitely a keeper in the tribute album but challenging in getting permission.

Wag muna siguro ang Wolfgang. They will definitely have their time later on.

The next challenging question is who will give the tribute. Normally, it is not the genre of music that is considered but the artist. DAPAT KINUKUHA YUNG ARTIST NA CURRENTLY SIKAT, MAY TRACK RECORD NA HIT SONG (sana more than one hit to remove flash in the pan artists), at DAPAT MABIGYANG PUGAY YUNG ORIG ARTIST.
Purposely we get artists from a wide spectrum of musical styles para maging malawak din ang maexplore ng tribute album. Ika nga, lahat ng influences mata-tap.

Good example of good tribute albums - West Side Story (from Christina Aguilera to Michael Macdonald to Chick Corea Electric band to Steve Vai).

Actually, pwede sila.

They have the hits. They have the following. They have the clout.

I think pwede tayong makakuha ng enough groups to make a tribute. Unfortunately, the tough hits will be hard. Pedro meron silang more than enough songs.

Because of recent turn of events, sigurado may nag-iisip na ng Yoyoy tribute album. Songs niya gagawing rock. Record company most probably pushing through - Vicor. They have most of Yoyoy's songs under their publishing.

That's what I see in my crystal ball.
