When i was 12 i accidentally put a charlie parked CD into the player. Haven't stopped listening to jazz since  :-D

Si jazhombie ang my kasalanan kung bakit ako nag-aaral ng jazz ngayon eh, masyado kong naingit sa talent nito hehehehehe

My dad loves jazz, as in lahat ng records na pinapatugtog niya sa bahay or sa car puro mga swing, bebop, smooth jazz, minsan pati fusion. Basta jazz pinapatulan niya. Minsan, 6-7 years old lang ako noh at wala pang pakialam sa mundo, nagplay si dad ng VHS sa bahay, mga concert ni Lee Ritenour, Elektric Band, pati Casiopeia. Ayan, na-jazz na rin tuloy ako, hanggang sa naging aloof ako sa mga classmates ko kasi di ko trip mga pinapakinggan nila.
Jazz isn't the only thing I play or listen to, but to me, playing jazz well is the highest form of musical excellence I can ever hope to achieve.
Iyon lang hehe

During college, i was listening to a lot of funk (Tower of Power stuff). I Then watched some UGOY-UGOY gigs at the old Monk's Dream place at Jupiter street and BUHAY gigs at Galo's. That was it... from Funk, i converted to Jazz. im hooked on it till now and probably till the last of my days :D

biglang sumakit tenga ko sa pakikinig ng metal  and it gives migraine, napakingan ko si Lee retenoir yun na adik na sa contemporary jazz

Ako naman dahil sa music ministry buddies ko sa church. Since I was a kid palaging P&W music pinapakinggan ko. Tapos when I was about 14 years old hinanap ko yung mga musicians ni Ron Kenoly. Dun nagsimula ang love affair ko sa jazz nung napakinggan ko ang album ni Abraham Laboriel Sr. kasama sina Alex Acuna at Justo Almario...

I believe that getting into jazz is a transition after metal. Pwera lang kung umpisa pa lang eh Jazzer ka na talaga.

Haha.. actually, before jazz, mahilig ako sa rock. Puro Dream Theater ang pinapakinggan ko. Anyways prog metal naman sila... Hahaha.

Me too. After I listened to DT and was opened to Prog Rock/Metal music, naghanap ako ng iba, rock.jazz fusion hanggan pure jazz na talaga.

tapos narealize ko na iisa lang ang feelings at puro ganon nlang
kaya ako ngtry ng jazz......

at pag cnabing jazz guitarist ka... ibig sabihin hindi ka ordinaryong guitarista

Actually ako simula ko is alternative/pop. "Acoustic" music kumbaga, nung panahon ni Paolo Santos. Tapos from there, nagtransition ako slowly to Jazz. :)

pumunta ako dati sa mercury drug at bumili lang muna ng ilan 500mg jazz tablets, nagustuhan ko yun epekto nya sa akin kaya regular na ang intake ko ng jazz supplements  :-D
