Sa pag scat, Ella is GOD.

ang galing ni rachelle ferrell!

Kung gusto niyo ng ganitong set, punta kayo sa chakik's bar in citigolf compound, j.vargas, pasig every thursday. mejo ganyan ginagawa namen. of course di kasing galing nila pero pwede sumabay sa ganyang jamming.

here are some reactions/comments  that i get when i scat:

1. "yaiks!nakalimutan niya lyrics!"
2. " masyadong heavy ng jazz niyo, pwede bang kumanta din kayo ng tattooed on my mind?"
3.  "sinasapian"
4.  eto madalas. pagpasok sa chakik's after the first round ng drinks, bill out na agad"

 I hope you will check out our sets. Tonight we will play at the Hard rock cafe kami at exactly 9:30 pm. pero mas ok sa chakiks

oi thnx pre, although maraming magagaling n soloist don, laging sinsabi nung conductor namin n hindi about s soloist ung banda, about s groove un and d sound as a whole. i realized how different jazz is in this kind of music. jazz has much more freedom in rhythm while this kind of setting should be tight. you solo differently too than you would on a jazz band, mas naging busy nga ako s pag-aayos ng sound ko kesa s pag aaral ng piyesa eh 8-)

how about explaining to the audience the kind of music that you're going to play, some nice words for them to appreciate the artform... think like you're one of the audience there, you don't know jazz, no idea about art and grew up without anyone explaining to them that people have that kind of freedom, so what do you want to hear from the performer? so be patient, explain then show them what you got...keep it tight

Haha, you should watch them live. Exceptional band. I just wish there were more exposure of these kinds of artists.

william, sometimes pag younger ang crowd i do talk to them and explain what i'm about to do next lalo pag original composition ko yun kase i really want them to feel a lil bit of how i feel singing my song...i want them to listen to my story. pero pag more mature ang audience wala akong problema kase very appreciative sila. minsan nagugulat sila na nag scat ako, nakakataba ng puso. pag jazz musician ang nakadinig, minsan bigla na lang aakyat, na eexcite mag jam. I really like that kind of situation.  aside from listening, sa jamming at improv talaga ako natututo. music theory idiot ako e.hehehe :-D
