Curious about DD3's
« on: April 27, 2007, 03:37:21 AM »
bakit pinagkakaguluhan yung dd3 whenever someone posts it for sale?

I have one and I don't get to use it. I'm thinking of selling it but CARABAO discourages me from doing so. I play classic rock/funk and most of the time, I'm happy with just an OD and a wah.

I'm also thinking about trading it with a marshall shredmaster but I'm gauging first if I'll let go of it.

any advice?  :-D

i think you're not into delay kaya sigro hindi ka naiimpress sa delays.. Depende rin ksi sa tao yan eh, wag mo ipilit kung di mo trip.

Parang ako ayoko ng Phaser.

we all know for a fact that yupanco sells it for a steep price and some of us are on a tight budget so we'd rather buy a second hand. :-)

I play classic rock/funk and most of the time, I'm happy with just an OD and a wah.

Para sakin, delay is a necesity. I could do away with flanger, filter, phaser, pitchshifter, octaver, wah and reverb. But never would dare to go out on a gig without a delay and an overdrive.

I use it to make my tone sound a bit warmer and thicker. Plus its a good tool to make your sound seamless when shifting from phrasing to solo. but as the saying goes "to each his own".

I'm also thinking about trading it with a marshall shredmaster but I'm gauging first if I'll let go of it.
any advice?  :-D

IMO, you might get a hardtime looking for such deal because DD-3 is in production and there's plenty of them in circulation as compared to Shredmaster which is now considered a collectible :-)

A lot of people use dd-3 to add some "presence" to their solos, try using it with low feedback and low delay time settings, you'll notice an immediate difference which gives you that "guitar hero" tone hehe. Listen closely to most of the great guitarists today and you'll notice most of them use delay. But if you're not into those crazy delay sounds and will use this just for soloing, if I were you I'd rather have an RV-3 or RV-5, I think that gets the job done better. Just my two cents. :-)

its not the best delay pedal there is..but its the easiest / simplest way to add dimension to your tone...ive had this pedal since,it never leaves my board due to its function...masarap laruin un settings nya...i never wanted to have lots of efx dahil tamad ako mag-chacha habang tumutugtog..ok na ko sa wah>OD>delay...hehe... 8-) 8-) 8-)

My current set-up:
Guitar->Behringer CS100->Boss OS-2->Boss BD-2->Zoom G7.1ut->Behringer EQ700->Amp.
Here's what I do kapag transition from riff to solo:(usually I use patches with my G7)
Switch patch in G7 from riff patch(usually with mod efx) to solo patch(usually with noise reduction, delay, reverb, minsan mod efx like chorus)->Step on BD-2, OS-2, CS100 and EQ700!
All in one leg!Haha!
To top it all, may ProCo Vintage Rat and Boss SD-1 pa na madadagdag!DEYM!

i think DD3 kasi ang "basic delay" sound the same way na yung tube screamer yung basic overdrive sound.

ok saken and DD3 kung sobrang mura (2K), pero it kinda sounds generic for me... everytime may marinig akong delay, DD3 agad ang guess ko either that or yung sa Zoom...

prefer ko na delay for solos is RV5... kung crazy delay sounds, echopark ang saken, hehe.

sa time based effects, hate ko talaga Flanger.

I use my Digitech Echoplus for those Mars Volta moments during our sets. I also have a DD-6 which I do not like. A DD-3 came by me a few years back and I just sold it. Boss delays are too sterile.
