Question,

Meron naba naka experience sainyo ng nasirang footswitch ng tc products?
Planning to buy polytune mini 2 kasi.

Currently turbo tuner st-200 gamit ko.

I currently have tc toneprint pedals (includes a polytune 2) which have been problem free -- take note the pedals have been with me for only a year though.  I believe they have proprietary switches so just like any loved item, use with care :)  I had a dreamscape before which developed a problem but I think it was an IC issue.. plus it had the old style switch similar to the 3dpt.  It was replaced eventually.

I had the same concern as yours before and when I inquired with their tech, he was honest about it and said the affected switches were from a particular batch/year (sorry I forgot the details he mentioned) and recent ones were "supposed" to be problem free.  Sorry it isn't much of a guarantee but I hope that helps.

This 2013 thread consensus shows TC stomps foot-switches generally have moderate to high failure rate.

http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/pedals/251102-attn-tc-electronic-toneprint-pedal-owners-switch-replacement.html

This 2015 thread says still hit and miss, depending on usage.

http://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/has-tc-electronic-improved-their-switches.1551730/

Personally, my TC stomps have held up well. No failed switches yet. (2+ years moderate use on Flashback, Flashback Mini, Gravy, HOF, Polytune Mini)

I-finalize ko lang, solid state amp na - portable, lower or same wattage, magandang clean/good for jazz playing. Thanks!

try mo kung maka score ka ng secondhand na Roland Cube  :) the amp sims are nice too.
other than that, a secondhand Stagg 20GAR (2-3k) and a secondhand dirt pedal (2-3k din). ito setup ko dati (Stagg + Artec Twinhead)
#ShamelessPlug binebenta ko yung Stagg amp ko hehehe http://talk.philmusic.com/index.php?topic=333202.0

if you will use pedals, get a stagg, or a nice solidstate that can take pedals. kung straight to amp ka, better to get the Blackstar IDCore.

Hows this? Actually, leaning towards straight to amp since i dont gig. But if i do get a solid state, is the marshall mg series good?

Bear in mind that im no pro when it comes to these.. so these are all new to me, apart from looking at youtube demos, id ask people with hands on experience.

i'd pass on the marshall MG as the technology is kinda outdated. the blackstar is a good choice sir. it has built in stereo effects; very convincing stereo effects as it has 2 speakers.

plus, it can be used as a music speaker as the speakers are FRFR (Full Range, Flat Response) hence, maganda ang tunog ng playback. awesome little amp.

i have the IDCORE20.

what's a nice cheap but decent (we're talking SX/Samick quality) LP copy that's in a natural wood finish. I'm not particular about the specie of wood as long as it's easy to strip or sand. if it doesn't have lacquer or some other thick finish on it, the better.

basically the scenario is that I have an RJ Bluesbreaker LP copy, and it comes in a bare wood finish. I was planning to take it apart and re-finish it, but the guitar itself isn't top notch and I'd have to buy at least new pups and pots and with just a tad more cash I could afford a secondhand cheapie that sounds and plays better from the get-go, which I can refinish as well.

primary consideration is the finish, not the tone. I just wanna work on a decent sounding project guitar.

yung IDCore40 siguro pwede na sa tugtugan na magaan, pero hirap pa rin. hindi talaga siya rehearsal amp. bedroom lang talaga IMHO.

cheapest decent LP Copy na si Greg Bennett. you can get second hand grecos as well pero its still at the 10-15k mark. i can't think of another brand with a decent LP Copy priced at the same range.

thanks sir! hanap na lang ako ng secondhand na Greg Bennett. I was also considering a secondhand SX Pirate LP, but I'm not sure if the matte black finish can be sanded off without taking away a considerable layer of wood (kasi kita yung grain, I don't think it's paint).

it's paint AFAIK. imho, why dont you just build one from the build a guitar kits in RJ and guitarsalon? at least customized lahat! and you can honestly say you built it!

imho kasi, di nlalayo yung SX Pirate sa RJ Bluesbreaker. tancha ko nga yung bluesbreaker mo MIK pa yan eh.

@redlights, okay naman, kaso yung electronics nun ang may problem (pickups), so gagastos parin for upgrades. chambahan din.

minsan sa construction din paps. imho, yung photogenic and maisons kasi na in circulation, ay yung mga entry level na either sablay ang hardware (tuners, bridge) or may sablay din ang pickups, or overall construction. as with all brands, maging mabusisi sa pagpili. meron ding mga magaganda. pero karamihan talaga ng nasa market, lalo na sa PCpark, ay yung mga napalitan na ng parts at inebenta na with a premium dahil sa brand.

wala kasing LP kit yung RJ  pero minamataan ko yung JEM kit nila just for kicks
kung pantay lang yung SX pirate sa RJ ko, I guess I'll just stick with it. not that excited to replace the neck naman, and I'm thinking it just might need tone pot replacements (very dark tone right now, but it works great with cheap amps actually).

now where do I get colored stains (as in rainbow color hindi wood color)? any ideas?
