Indeed the population of Rasta boys and girls is not that big compared with other genre. Changing to World Music might invite more musicians in that forum.

I suggest a society chorvaness subforum, to contain threads related to society, science, religion and politics. Dumadami na kasi, and it would segegate them from the rest of the usually shallow Anything Goes.

On the other hand ... "World Music" is too broad. The term can refer to anything excluding Western Popular music. It would be like putting pop, rock, jazz, soul, and country under one section "Western Popular Music".

I see Reggae n Ska have more posts than Classical Gas, Soul Patrol, and Electronica. Hmmmmmmm.

Take my vote for this! World/Folk/Traditional Music.

I'm totally into this genres these days. And I'm starting to hate reggae haha. Parang wala nang lumilitaw na kakaiba ang tunog sa mga reggae bands.

Re: New section for AMPS?
« Reply #329 on: January 15, 2013, 09:56:02 AM »

from page 1 to 7 or 8 lang ha posts where updated today and yesterday pa.
may mga nag post kasi na selling amps but not updating their post daily or every other day.
I spend mostly 2 hours sa classifieds kasi some sellers are not writing their title on what they are selling so I have to look into their page pa to see what they are selling (baka andum yung hinahanap ko) and also I stop by on some pages na tempting din ung binebenta nila.
di mo rin alam, hanap ng hanap ka sa pages 10 and above (ex. mga 1 hr na spend mo) tapos ina update pala ng seller ung post nya nasa page 1 na. nakaka asar din. pero me using a proxy server para maka pasok sa Philmusic, I always have this problem at mabagal yung loading nya sa page.
and there are other people na walang internet sa bahay so sa cafe sila mag update ng posts nila and di lagi daily nila ma update
alam mo naman magastos din if daily nag rent ng pc.
sa experience ko lang before, I bought my peavey transtube from a seller na ung post nya was on page 23 something...
I bought my peavey head sa post na page 10.
if gagamitin ko ung search tool lagi nalang nag error at if ever mag work ung search bar may mga title din na wrong spelling so walang panalo!

pwede ba to mods new section para sa amps? guitar amps insert narin ung bass amps.
or 21 day rule bump tulad ng jemsite :D

Thanks for the suggestions, but this is primarily a message forum, not a real classified ads database driven site. I suggest you do your transactions on a classified ads site like sulit. Or leave this site.

IMO we could have it over at the Gig Announcement Board; technically it's supposed to be a discussion board. I might rename it as Gig Reviews and Announcements. Well what do you know.. I just did!

How about a Spare Parts thread?
« Reply #337 on: June 18, 2013, 05:04:28 PM »
I am sure a lot of us are more than willing to help out a fellow musician in need of parts that are either difficult to find or not really available here like spare parts or even items we have not really used in a while. Maybe it's best to pass em on to others so that others may benefit from it :-D
Not really a for sale thread but a thread that focuses on giving the stuff or at least giving leads to other members needs in such things. >:D

Long ago I expereinced a man hunt for a s pare input jack washer. I know you could get some online but they offer the whole input jack, I just needed the washer. Took me like 4 months two find one in the most unexpected place where you would find one (wanna know the story, PM me hehe) :-D

What do you guys think? :?
Where should this thread go? ^-^
Should this thread even exist? :-D

Thanks Philmusic!

It could be done either in it's specific musician's forum board or for the FS items, in the unclassifieds.

unfair sa ibang rock genres if genre-specific ang board allotment sa PM; kukulangin din tayo sa bandwidth to cater to all if ever. You could start a Metal "Thread" sa Rock Forums instead though.

Thank you sir for that information and I understand what you mean about the bandwidth.

I just have my two cents though:

- Metal is not a sub genre of rock. Metal is a genre of its own. I wouldn't call dying fetus or cannibal corpse or necrophagist rock bands, they are metal bands.

- Metal is a genre evolved from rock and has generated its own identity as a genre itself and sub genres.

Rock sub-genres > classic rock/glam rock, punk rock, acid rock, hard rock, grunge, etc..

Metal sub-genres > death metal, technical death metal, djent/math metal, black metal, metalcore, deathcore, doom metal, etc..

So the statement said about the being unfair of a metal thread to other rock genres (for me) is not correct. But if you make another separate thread for say "acid rock", then that would be unfair to other rock (sub) genres.

And another thing, the "The Music Forums" board IS actually a genre-specific section of PM. Thus the thread names/board allotments are like "Pop", "The Rock Music Forums", "Jazz and Blues Cafe", "Classical", "Soul", etc., which separates these threads by the type of the "genre" to be discussed under each thread..

But if the "issue" will be bandwidth, maybe we can call the thread "Rock/Metal" thread instead..

Again, just my opinions. Thanks!

Music Teachers Section ?

dun sana magpopost yung mga nagtuturo ng any form of music, either through private practice, schools, bands, choirs, or any other institution. may sariling language and mindset kasi ang mga educators eh hehe so i think it would be a great idea to make this possible

Di ko napansin ito, di ko na tuloy nabalikan sorry. I'm thinking about adding a metal board as a sub board of the rock forums since madami na din naman nagrequest nito; traffic-wise OK naman yung expected projection and bandwidth could cater pa naman kahit papaano. I'll work on it within the week.

You could create a thread sa Words and Music Section for the meantime, I'll sticky it para madaling makita. If OK naman yung response ng mga tao, enough to turn it to a board of it's own then I'll update it by then. Thanks!

Ah kaya pala nagkaroon ng sub forum for metal! Pero seriously "metal" on the Rock music forum and on its own forum is the same, same thread, same people participating, i dont see the need of creating a child board.. Oh well its done anyways!

I'll let it run for a while since medyo madami na din nagrequest for a stand alone "metal" board ever since. If hindi significant yung impact traffic-wise, madali naman i-integrate ulit yung board sa main forum. :-D
