During his young days, Jimmy Page focused his future in biology to be a germ researcher and discover a way to cure cancer...

John Bonham died because he drank forty measures of vodka which resulted in pulmonary edema (waterlogging of the lungs caused by inhalation of vomit) while asleep(sideways).

Robert Plant used to be a construction worker laying tarmac on roads in england.

John Paul Jones used to play in church..

In their first ever tour, Led Zeppelin band name was "The New Yardbirds" a former band of jimmy page..

"Led" in Led Zeppelin was supposed to be spelled as "Lead". it was then changed to "Led" because of those thick americans who pronounced the band "Leed Zeppelin".

It was Keith Moon and John Entwistle(The Who) who gave jimmy page the idea of the name Led/Lead Zeppelin.

Terry Reid was the first vocalist invited by Page to form led zeppelin, but he declined and Reid introduced Plant instead..

When Plant was auditioning for Led Zeppelin for the vocalist spot, Page first thought Plant is not the right singer for his band because Plant wasn't even a big name in england and he was singing for years before they met. Page then invited Plant into his house and observed him. they got together well and what do you know? hello Led Zeppelin. (Bonham was referred by plant while jones was recruited by page due to being a friend/co-worker during his sessionist days).

In the winter of 1949, King played at a dance hall in Twist, Arkansas. In order to heat the hall, a barrel half-filled with kerosene was lit, a fairly common practice at the time. During a performance, two men began to fight, knocking over the burning barrel and sending burning fuel across the floor. The hall burst into flames, which triggered an evacuation. Once outside, King realized that he had left his guitar inside the burning building. He entered the blaze to retrieve his beloved $30 guitar, a Gibson acoustic. Two people died in the fire. The next day, King learned that the two men were fighting over a woman named Lucille. King named that first guitar Lucille, as well as every one he owned since that near-fatal experience, as a reminder never again to do something as stupid as run into a burning building or fight over women

hehehe astig noh?
jan din nakuha ni ryusuke?!?! ba??
yung sa mongolian chop squad yang pangalan ng gitara niya
a gibson les paul with holes in it
the guitar player was shot right on stage while playing.

Paul Reed Smith (PRS) Custom 24 Emerald Green
Once owned by Page Hamilton of the band Helmet who used the guitar for one tour then returned it.Daniel rang up PRS asking what guitars they had in stock and they said they had just been returned a guitar by Page and Daniel quickly said 'Yes!'. Used since mid-1995 and tuned in Drop-D ever since then. Used for Slave, Freak, Israel's Son, The Door...  :-D

Alexi Laiho's "Nobody-knows-whose-child" sticker, commonly misinterpreted as "Wildchild", was inspired not by the W.A.S.P. classic as Laiho himself claims, but by the song "Wildchild" by Enya.

Pwede ba to -- effects-related:

(Re: Origins of Distortion)

In the early days of guitar amplification, amplifiers were primitive and low-fidelity, and distortion was inherent in the signal chain.

Most amplifiers were all-purpose, designed for use with multiple instruments with different output levels, and guitar pickups were often clip-on types that had weak output levels and microphonic properties. The guitars were typically hollow-body instruments, which would resonate sympathetically with the amplified signal, causing unwanted feedback - until Les Paul came along and solid body electric guitars were born.

Overdrive/Distortion/Cabs:

An early user of valve overdrive was Chuck Berry, who at the start of his career played through small valve amplifiers, the only ones he could afford. Because of their low output, they were easy to overdrive, giving Chuck's guitar tone a warm overdriven sound, which can be heard on his recording of his first hit "Maybellene". On later recordings he was able to afford better and larger amps and consequently his tone became cleaner. The earliest uses of intentional distortion that have been recorded were achieved through "doctoring" amplifiers and speakers. Guitarists would use a razor blade, screwdriver or pencil to poke holes into their speaker cones to create a distorted sound.

kurt cobain had an  Ibanez Les Paul Custom copy, left-handed, set neck, cherry sunburst, Dimarzio X2N pickups, 2 coil tap mini switches (installed when purchased), flame top but not super flamey, black pickguard (may have been removed) and pickup rings. Black or gold speed knobs. This was a great lefty guitar but Kurt wouldn't play it live because he said it looked too much like Jimmy Page. Earnie may have sent this for the "In Utero" recording (41)(59).

from http://www.kurtsequipment.com/

cant imagine kurt with a les paul, much less an Ibanez lawsuit copy.

All of Kurt's techs were always recycling parts from smashed guitars, often piecing them together. Sometimes, only a pickguard or the pickups were changed (57). Kurt used lots of different straps, usually white or black Ernie Ball.

Here's a "dark" trivia:

Legend says that Blues Great Robert Johnson became as great as he is because he made a "deal" with the "devil" himself at a certain "crossroad". When his time came, he died choking, and muttering "...dogs...dogs". Maybe hellhounds from hell?
