I've said it before, i say it again...we're all getting old, hahahahaha.

When rock came out, the same question was posed by the oldies of that time.

And with every new generation, the generation before asks the same question.

and in the end, the generation whose music was labeled as bad by the preceding one, will ask it of the incoming generation's music.

and yet music will go on. har!

You'll only know if the music is really good when it stands the test of time.

its because mostly people in the music industry today dont have the musicanship in their hearts anymore. Some of them think that by doing music can make their rich LOL imho.

akala kasi ng mga tao, basta nakasulat at nakakumpleto sila ng isang kanta, ang galeng galeng na nila. Feeling nila super ganda na ng kanta, dahil sila ang nagsulat. kulang sa quality control ang mga songwriters today.

Nakarelate ako... I listened to this MP3 compilation made by this guy somewhere sa net ("9 albums of psycedelia" or something like that) of 60s bands. Pare, pangit lahat It made me appreciate the few acts from that era that I know and currently listen to.

+1000. That's the exact truth. Everything that we think comprises the past is actually already filtered. If you want to find out about songs that never lasted through the years, try picking up an old Jingle Magazine. There'll be songs there you've never heard of. Want to see more? Go back to the old billboard charts, and scan the years at the 100-200 slots. What we think of as the past in terms of music is just the music that proved to be relevant, or singularly good until today. It's the same with today's music, and tomorrow's as well. For every immortal "Satisfaction", we'll get the likes of "Ice, Ice Baby," "Girl you know it's True," "Strange but True" and "Telephone Mama" (Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli, Times Two and Gazebo, respectively). And you can never really tell which song will last.

di ko natripan yung 90s music masyado. no offense 
but i agree. some of the music today is crap. i like 80s rock like van halen and queen. siguro nga tama yung sinabi ni sir inigo. mas natritripan natin yung mga kanta ng yesteryears.

imo, kaya natin nagugustuhan yung mga kanta ng noon kasi nakatatak sa atin yung mga kantang sikat noon. makakalimutan na natin yung mga kantang noon na di naman sikat.. di tulad ng mga kanta ngayon. naririnig natin yung mga magaganda, mapapangit, at nakakasawa pakinggan. pero yung mga magagandang kanta ngayon yung mga matitripan naman ng mga tao in the next 10-15 years.

70s music ang the best decade ng music industry. Marami sa kanila ay nasa hall of fame. Pero sa local scene natin ay 80s  ng lumabas ang the dawn, saka 90s when eraserhead came.    Ewan ko opinion ko lang.

i actually like the 70s, napaka-groovy kasi. then the 80s for love songs (hehe) and 90s kasi andun na yung eheads and other bands (local and international). what I dont like now eh yung mga nagpapa-cute like kim chiu (crazy love) for example. di ba, like haler?! mga bingi ba ang nagrecord ng album ng babaeng ito to even let her go on air? i mean, siguro band wise, not so much (except for the so-called pogi-rock music of hale and calla lily) but for the solo acts, gosh, i could strangle them.
