i think knowing when to play less and slow when the song calls for it is also important to be a well rounded player. depende sa hinahanap ng kanta. if you're jamming with metallica, go crazy. if you're jamming with robert cray, mas restained and more emphasis on phrasing.

no but it is one good way of measuring being able to play slow is not that impressive if people don't know anything about playing guitar

but play fast and a lot of people will go crazy

hindi basihan ang speed if you meant on a solo..

solo is for me is an expression you want to emphasize on a song/music the moment you hear, feel and interpret it,.

kung feel mo mabilis or mabagal, as long as that is what you feel, go!

but music is not all just about speed!

there are more important things like:

composing
melody
phrasing
searching for the best tone possible in a live or studio setting
being successful career-wise in music

THERE'S LOTS OF THINGS TO WORK ON ON THIS VERY DIVERSE ART

I read a Van Halen interview in a Guitar World Magazine ages ago and he said something like this:
"For kids playing like typewriters? They can cop my speed but they can't cop my feel"

Speed is not a good measuring stick for guitar players. But - I wish I could play faster.

speed is only part of a guitarist's overall skill. so no.

but ang mga guitarist nman may mga "specialties" yan eh.. some love shredding, breakdowns, riffing, and iba nman melody lang talaga.. it depends lang talaga on the guitarist
