Just wanna share my experience when I first saw Perf:

I was still in college then in Silliman University when my friend and I saw Perf (circa 1999-2000). We just finished an exam sa engineering building and was going to the Alumni Hall. We saw Perf standing around between the cafeteria and Alumni Hall.

Friend: "Bai, si Perf De Castro o!"
(Pare, that's Perf De Castro!)

Me: (Looking real hard at Perf) "Di oi. Bati ra kaayo shag nawong oi."
(Hindi. He's too ugly looking.)

Then we went on with our business still laughing at our joke... Little did we know that it was truly the one and onleh!

So I'd like to take this time to apologize to Perf for that uncalled-for comment. Everyone is byutipul in the sight of the Lord.

Who did you listen to for blues playing in your development years (pre stardom)? I know your other influences (eg, PG) pero sino pinakinggan or influences mo sa blues genre mismo? Among the technically-advanced local guitarists from the 90s, isa ka sa pinaka ma-blues eh.
