Isa pa: Equipment NOT Equipments. Like Gear, these are called MASS NOUNS.  :-)

Sorry. OC and OT.  :-D

OT: Isa pa --> Cargo, not cargoes. :-D

I really find some of the comments here... uhm, curious.

I wonder kung yung mga feeling astig-nationalistic dito eh nakaharap na ng batallion ng mga riot police complete with crowd-dispersal gear sa Mendiola or US embassy...  I'm not talking the "family having a picnic at EDSA People Power 3.1 or something"-nationalistic...

OK I HAVE TO SHOUT THIS OUT COZ ITS A PET PEEVE. THERE IS NO SUCH WORD AS GEARS FOR GUITAR GEAR.

whew. Just want to educate some ppl with good english. GEARS is a noun for a toothed wheel used for cars etc etc.

Thank God someone pointed this out! Tagal ko nang nagpipigil!

Meron pang isa, probably just as common as "gears".

It's "stuff", not "stuffs"!!!

Hahahahaha! Pare, ako rin e.. ayoko lang magcomment

About that Tom person, it's his gig. In the end, you can always choose to refuse his offers.

"hello everyone, check out my gears!"

anyway, OT ako, haha. nakausap ko si tom dati, over the phone. madaldal sha, as in, hehe. yun nga, if you're looking to buy, he might have some stuff for you, pero if you're looking to sell, wag na lang.

is there so much wrong when we tell fellow forumites not to sell gears on his place   pare? is it also wrong when we advice them its okay to visit his place only when you buy stuffs? what cards I'm playing are you talking about? You should have made validation of sentiments by buying first the buy and sell magazine if indeed he controls most of it?. kaya nga nag exodus papunta rito sa forum karamihan e. Verify these sentiments pare by visiting him personally, dalhin mo maganda mong gamit at ibenta sa kanya, kayo pala ang nakiki tsismis lang e.

You call these guys trying to be nationalistic? stupid? racist? I'd rather be one tahn be an idiot!!! Hail the knight in his shining armor(nighties ata pala!) ready to defend the guy whom he allegedly not met yet. Galing na kami don, kayo naman okay?

you calling me an idiot? tatagalugin ko na ha? para ma-gets mo.

gets?

stupid? racist? I'd rather be one tahn be an idiot!!!

dude...you just called yourself stupid and racist. or wanting to be. but then again you ARE grammatically tripping all over yourself.

i know, bro, maraming way to be nationalistic.  and good for you.  pero judging sa post ng iba rito, feeling mababaw at misguided ata ang basehan ng pagiging nationalistic.

oh well, as if this will change anything...  yung grammar na lang ang i-crusade natin. haha.

PRSMan - Sila farseer, tolits, sopwith, and Arie, ang alam kong madalas na customer nyan.  Lots of real 60s and 70s stuff.

BTW,  I just got a PM from a very reliable source/friend with actual experience na nagoyo siya ni Tom.  I asked him to share his chilling story, pero it's really up to him.  It might help other forumites.

I bought a Yamaha FG 300D acoustic for 11K 2years ago from Tom. He said it's a vintage acoustic. I wasn't as guitarded as before so how the f*ck would I know its worth. I bought it, THEN researched. :(

I learned that the RED LABEL FG series are the real Mcoy. What I got was a Makoy-- cream labelled. It's an original Yamaha and, in fairness to Tom, almost vintage. It's just short of about ten years! hahaha.  :-D

Then I researched on the resale value of my geetar. Mataas lang ng 1K from the original price nya ng 14K before the great tawad:-D

sige share ko narin experience ko sa kanya. nung summer, i was planning to buy a telecaster pero di ko pa alam ang phil music noon. I asked TOM if he has some telecasters. sabi niya meron siyang american traditional which he sells for 35k. sabi niya that the american traditional is a higher version of the new high way one and is gradually increasing in price. e dahil di pa ako marunong sa guitar values etc nun ay binili ko. pero sabi niya if i dont want the guitar, i can trade it with another of his guitars. so i did my research and found out that the american traditional is an export model that is made in the US with made in china parts  :-D nako!!! sabi niya sakin na all US yan!!! tapos pa nun tumawag ako sa yupangco ng day na yun and inask ko price nila sa am. trad dati. they said it was 35k and about 28k sale. naku!!! nangtaga!!! hahahaha. so the next day i called tom and told him that i didn't like the guitar i bought from him. Luckily, he allowed me to changed that guitar to an american standard strat  :-D

yun experience ko sa kanya. he gives wrong information  :-D :-D :-D

and hindi niya alam lahat ng details and history ng guitars niya because he just buys it. It's not really his guitar so what would he know about it?  :-)

i was actually referred by Doc Farseer to Tom when i was looking for a guitar.  however, i had second thoughts kasi nga he's a foreigner and i don't know how he deals.  pero i was forewarned by Farseer and given some tips should i deal with this guy.  it ended up na ndi na ako pmunta sa kanya!   :-D

but i'm still planning to visit his condo just to look around.  :-)

Tom is AUSTRIAN by the way...according to Farseer.  :-D

I dealt with him before and it was pretty straight up. No problems encountered.

I run a multinational branch office and so I deal with people of different nationalities on a daily basis as I have learned to accept them for what and who they are. In turn, they also took the effort to learn about us.

It's a two way street-- as many things foreigners do naturally may be offensive to us and the reverse holds true as well. It's a world that grows smaller everyday and social harmony is a good thing. I respect the opinion of others as posted here and this is just mine.

Cheers to everyone!
