i'm planning to purchase some wood blanks this year but i won't give them to a luthier until next year. what's the best way to store them at home?
i store mine (my rosewoods and walnuts) in our upper shelves in our bedroom closet. wife thinks i'm crazy hehehe
but you can just store them in a place away from the elements. away from moisture and heat. just put two sticks on the base of the wood so that air can flow freely on its underside. it's called stickering wood. i put my large planks in the garage.
if its green wood expect it to move (warp) a bit, when it does don't worry, it will settle in time. better it to move now as a plank than as a guitar, no?
