Chromeknive where do you come from? Timbuktu?
I never contradicted Skunk on his idea of having a tube amp as an investment over boutique pedals. The thread had a good start. I reacted when the "totoy" term was used because I saw it as an unfair judgement. A tube amp is the way to go if your application is more on the rock genre. But what about the jazz guitarist and acoustic guitarist? The jazz guitarist might prefer the jazz chorus for his application. So no matter if it's a tube amp or solid state amp, as long as it works for the musician then we must respect that. We don't need to be judgemental on what he invests on. In such cases a lot of guitarists bring pedals to gigs.
Generaly it should be like this in investment Guitar > Amp > effects.
Manila, Philippines, thank you very much. You?
Well that thankfully clarifies it. Finally. While I still think "Totoy" as a term really isn't something to argue about, this post really sums up and clarifies what you've been trying to say. Pardon me if I didn't get you early on, but honestly I found your early posts to be all over the place.
If you read back to my posts, I was never judging anyone anyway. I was just affirming the idea this thread was promoting (guitar>amp>pedals) and refuting the need for fuss over the term "Totoy" or the perceived "judgementalism" (if there is such a word).
