In the 80s, I looked up the meaning of "rock music" in the Encyclopedia Americana. If I recall correctly, the key phrase of its' definition is, "amplified music"... I thought it was quite a primitive and limited description but it held some truth to it. I hope that helps.

but most of the time "rockers" tends to over-do it in a grueling manner. don't get me wrong. i like rock music and specially metal.

The '80's was trendy in its own way, and so was the '70's, and so on.

Let's face it, the younger generation will always be thought of as trendy and listening to junk music by many from the older.

So, if a friend of yours asks "explain (rock music, metal, punk or any combination thereof) to me," the best thing to say is that all you have to do is listen...if you don't like it, then it's not for you. Live and let live.

RocK is an attitude, a lifestlye... its either you're enjoying it or eventually, hindi mo na trip gawin... nasa trip mo lang yan....

Francis M for me is a Rocker... kahit na hiphop yung lifestlye nya... nasa nagdadala lang yan... nasa tao yan...

Rock comes from the word RazorbacK
Try attending one of their gigs... and you would see and feel what is RocK... nasa iyo na yun kung matripan mo or hindi...
rock pa din yun kung hindi mo ma tripan!!!
