at pipilitin din tayo mag upgrade to Vista...

There is XP Service Pack 3 just out - looks like XP is going to live a lot longer than expected.

If you've got more than 2GB of RAM, then Vista should be good.

Although I'd give it another 1~2 years before getting Vista. A lot of applications still don't support Vista, and a lot of old stuff isn't compatible with it. Most of the good stuff online take a while before being available for Vista.

Although all the commercial ones are already compatible with Vista. It's really your choice.

As with any previous Microsoft Windows OS releases, Vista still has a lot of flaws.

Heck, our company upgraded all its workstations to IBM/Lenovo PCs with bundled Vista only to replace it with XP.

I guess it just shows that businesses in general still embrace XP because of its stability.

Let's give Vista 2/3 more years to mature (of course i.e., assuming Microsoft does not release a new OS by then ).

vista? daming sakit ng ulo yan... i can't tell you the number of problems you'll encounter with it...

XP? yeah, sweet... kasi nga naman daming applications na tumatakbo jan... but in retrospect, diba kinatakutan din naman ng lahat ang XP nung nilabas sha sa market? most people would like to stay on win98 because of application compatibility...

given the trend, i guess that the best way is for you to upgrade Vista to SP1, then see for yourself... if it still sucks after that, downgrade to XP, pero make sure you have all the drivers required bago ka magbura... baka di mo rin mapatakbo system mo pag nagakataon...

if it's of any consolation, MS OSes really suck... you can use Linux for free if you want...  :-D

Guys(and gals) i need your opinion.

I'm a 3rd year nursing student with an Acer Aspire 4520 running under Vista. So far sakit ng ulo lang dinulot with the compatibility problems. What do you think? Should i go back to XP?

maski kahit mag-move ka ng files, me mga warnings pa e... however, if there are way too many restrictions going on, you can eliminate this by disabling the User Account Control in the Users section in the Control Panel... after that, reboot your system, tapos presto! tanggal na ang mga buwisit na restrictions....

this feature is very resource-exhaustive, and it would be entirely your decision if you'd like to maintain it or take it off... should you want to reactivate it, you just have to go back to the Users section again, and re-enable the feature again...

note: disabling this feature may or may not pose a significant amount of risk to your system. it is a feature integrated to the OS to limit malicious activity on your system. by disabling it, you run the risk of having your system manipulated online.

vista is starting to grow on me.

although i hate it's super tight restrictions that i can't fathom where to adjust (eg. file sharing in yahoo messenger)

So far, XP pa rin talaga ko, due to my computer specs. pero, given the choice, gusto ko Vista na. hehehe

pwedeng pwede sir... as a matter of fact, i do it all the time...

everytime na magfo-format ako ng HDD ko, i always do a clean Vista installation... that way, wala masyadong glitches sa installation, and at the same time, it cuts the installation time...

1. upgrade version ang winvista mo, which is not always entirely the case... the vista DVD, regardless of version [home basic, home premium, ultimate et. al.], is bootable, and can be used to do a clean install...

2. there are no drivers present for your devices to run in winvista... install ka muna xp SP2, then drivers ng xp, then upgrade install ng vista...

So far, XP pa rin talaga ko, due to my computer specs. pero, given the choice, gusto ko Vista na. hehehe

kaya nga po ser. hehehe. kse if you choose the upgrade option, it wont work if you have xp sp1. kaya, dapat clean install lang para mainstall ang vista sa pc. hehehe

Laging problem lang ung hardware drivers and ung software compatibilty pero di magtatagal ma so solve narin yan.Kailangan at least 1GB up RAM mo kundi mag hung pc mo. dami kase securities nag ru run sa services.. para sakin kung lastest medyo high end pc mo go for Vista

wla nman problema ser kung VISTA or XP gamit mo

kaya nga always present yung "DESIGNED FOR WIN XP or VISTA" stickers jan s laptop db.

yang laptop mo, may serial #, may product id and kung anu-ano pa na when you go online yun yung nka-register s kanila kya minsan pde ka mag-update ng wlang hassle thru net.

ako nga im stil using WIN98 dun s ibang pc ko kc hanggang dun lng kya ng cpu.

depende s gmit mo ser or kung ano talaga kelangan mo :-)

XP user for years,

Ngayon naka vista na ako with my new gaming PC, no problems so far.
Suggest ko lang na max out nyo ung memory para hindi mag slow down,
I have 2gb dual channel memory setting, di naman mabagal although malakas talaga kumain ng memory ang vista in regards sa features nya.
1gb is not enought, get 2-4gb, better
