Flyleaf - Self-Titled Album
« on: April 21, 2008, 10:33:10 PM »
Just got the album... so here's a simple review.

UK version, 13 tracks that includes "Fully Alive" & "All Around Me" Acoustic Versions.

It kicks-off with "I'm So Sick", I thought I'm listening to Paramore for the first few seconds until I heard the lead vocalist GROOOWWWLLL!, Yes Lacey Mosley is good at it, great voice... but this is not your typical Metal band. Very simple guitar riffs but catchy from both of the guitarist, they work well with each other as well as the other members of the band. The drummer, James Culpepper ain't Lars Ulrich or Mike Portnoy but still a very good job from him... just perfect for the band. And same goes to the bassist, Pat Seals.

All of the tracks are catchy but a little repetitive. Personal favorites are "Fully Alive" & "All Around Me". Appearance of Dave Navarro in this album is a plus.

This is a really hard-rocking album packed with inspirational lyrics but don't get me wrong this band ain't a Christian band.
