) confidence helps  :-)

Focus lang po kaylangan sa bilangan. maslalo pag ka may metro ka. mas maayos kung nakadirekta sa tenga mo yung metro para di ka mawala. at the same time presence of mind sa sequence, bagsakan, fills, and sa mga kasama mo syempre. then pag halata mo na na maayos na yung metro mo eh madedevelop mo na yung natural metronome mo sa utak. then di mo na kelangan ng metrong kapangit ng tunog. hehehe

Kanya kanya naman po ng learning curve po eh. for fresh starters mas ok talaga na mag metro kasi mas maeenhance ung bilangan nila then pag developed na yung internal metronome nila mas stable sila. to be honest I did'nt start drumming with metronome tas nung sinubukan ko mag metro nawawala ako. It's like you fill stuppid. and that was 7 year of drumming and nawawala ka sa metro. hahaha. Ayun I tried to practice with meter until I got used to it kaya ngayon 13-14 years nako ng drudrums and I feel like i can play with or without metronome. para sayo sir ok ka kasi may internal metronome ka pero mas ok padin na marunong ka sumabay sa metro di ba. Peace out

ah ganyan din ako mehn! sobrang stupid mag roll nung nagsimula ako mag metro. parang nakakakulong yung metro. pero ok lang nakasanayan din.

why don't you try to play along with a cd?
this way you can practice your tempo at the same time enjoy playing along with your favorite tracks.  same effect as a metronome kasi perfect time naman yung mga albums like a metronome. unless you have a really bad cd na hindi na inayos before nirelease sa market.

try mo yung fall out boy's "sugar we're going down" :)

another advantage to this is mate-train mo yung sarili mong makinig ng drum tracks at pag aralan kung papano yun nabuo or, in some cases, "dinaya"... example: Greenday's American Idiot. yung drums nun ay hindi live drumming... it's just a looped drum track. I guess even trey cool is guilty of wobbly drumming kaya siguro pinalitan ng producer iyon ng sample na drum track nya at niloop na lang using a software.

speaking of software, you can use that to replace your metronome.  try to get cakewalk or sony acid pro and get sample track na gusto mong praktisin... you can loop it endlessly and play along with it as long as you want.  if you are really particular, you can even compare the sound waves side by side para alam mo visually kung gano ka kalayo sa iyong sample.

hope this helps!
