yeah i use to use drugs too, to battle depression and lots of stuff going on into my life. i used to drink alot too.. then i realized i needed to come clean. never smoked a joint in my life ever since that time..

with that i think i have learned alot about music wise and management of myself now.

doing drugs isnt the answer.

being clean has helped me live life as it should be lived. and it has improved my drumming alot.

drink pero in moderation.

as my band has a rule before a jam session and before a gig walang iinum ng alak.... after pwde na pero moderation parin. kc we watch one another. we treat one another as brothers. and we all want to make music in a clean way.

its nice to see musicians cleaning up. and stop using toxic stuff to ruin or lives and the music we make.

people can make good music with out using these stuff

This is brilliant jp! I like the idea. Aku ang addiction ko lang right now is food. I hope you can help. Hehehehehe. Pero really, you are a great commodity on the drum community. Drugs most of the time is associated with playing music. Di ba nga ang STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN daw is created while the lyricist is high. Beatles never got out of "drug issues" , rockstar gods killed themselves using drugs. There are a lot stories about rock and drugs and its NOT COOL. Sex, drugs and rock and roll nga daw eh. Its time to change the image of the musician. Kaya yung mga nanay at tatay natin pakinigin mo ng BLACK SABBATH, LED ZEPPELIN yan or makarinig ng SLAYER. Pakiramdam nila DRUG ADDICT ka na eh. During their times "IN" ka pag musician ka at addict. This is a different generation my friends. Drugs now are made out of chemicals that can make serious damage on your brain. FYI lang.

Marami na ngang drummer na namatay dahil sa drugs tsaka alchohol. Diba si Portnoy nagfaint dahil sa alchohol tsaka stress after their Scenes from New York concert. Si Porcaro nawala rin sa mundong to.

i got to hand it to JP, he makes a point...JIHAD isn't only a place to learn lessons in drums...but also lessons in life...I think this philosophy...Will remove the stereotype that if your a drummer, your a dumb, druggy, alcoholic bum who wouldn't amount to anything in his/her life, let us DRUMMERS, show them that who are they to judge us hell!!!...Who says you couldn't become a successful entrepreneur as well as become an accomplished drummer... I believe that this philosophy can very well be the pinnacle to change this fu**ing trend of "always stereotyping the drummer." On a lighter side.... Si JP hindi lang pala drum teacher....social councilor din....You are the man JP...

Pumping adrenaline is the best. Have you experience bieng high after a gig. para kang naka drugs but you haven't take anything (e.g. alchohol or drugs). mas ok pa tugtugan pag sober. drink after the gig but not before playing. It'll screw up what you practiced for. hehehe saludo ako sayo jayp...

soundz good.. nice one.. di lang kasi ung mga lesson sa drums ang dapat natin pulutin sa kapwa natin drummer, may mapupulot ka din naman na mabuti sa kanila, at isa ngang magandang halimbawa ay ung ginawa ni sir jp.. salamat talaga ng madame sa 'yo.. +1M

Before Im also one one the drunken master here, but now because of macoy one of my idol nawala bisyo ko i dont even drink kahit onti o shot man lang sa any gig, at nakaugalian ko na din at ayon ang sarap sa pakiramdam grabe.. cguro water nalang at zesto every gig,, occassional lang din pag napapainom mas lalo na hindi rin makatanggi sa erpat hehe

Ang liquor dapat for parties and special event lang. Drunk when drumming is different. Masarap yung feeling but it's gonna hurt the performance. For those guys na nakasubok na you know what I mean. Delayed hands and feet. Accurate yung plans mo for fill ins and bagsakan pero di nagrerespond yung body. Pero enjoy yung feeling cause you feel like a rock star when in infuence of alchohol. Mas masarap parin yung pure high when drumming yung parang endorfine high and aware ka with whats happening during the performance. yeah lets all play it straight. Cheers... Happy new year
