rico blanco has always amazed me through his lyrics, kahit nung unang stage pa ng maya. parokya too, very digestible (tama ba yun?).

For me, good lyrics doesn't have to be too deep or too shallow. The important thing is that the audience can get the message and feel what the song is letting you feel. 20 million by rivermaya always gives me goosebumps when i hear it. future by udub and dicta license also amazed me.

siguro nga there is no right or wrong here. it's just a matter of opinion, kasi kapag magco-compose ka naman ng kanta, hindi basta basta nagsusulat ka (even rappers tend to compose their lyrics properly, not just blabber). You have to feel the song through the lyrics, the tune creates the ambience.

yun ang marketable naman =) since 1940s pa ata..since victorian period hehe.. shakesperian period ..hehe

and i admire people like rico... ebe.. itchyworms.. coz they have reached mainstream and still made a messege...
they have delivered the messege of love with poetic/alternative words =)
