DS-1 is a nice pedal....except it is....either muddy or harsh and not that warm-sounding to be used on a live situation.
Ever since i started playing guitar i've been a big fan of the marshall sound. The sad part is i've spent a lot of cash just to find the tone I hear in my head....guitar tones from the great artists with guitars played on a tube amp ---> bettencourt, timmons, kiss, malmsteen etc.
After several trial & errors, I've finally came up with a '
british JCM800 mod' for the legendary DS-1.
+No drilling/toggle switches necessary.----If a pedal sound truly good, i believe it doesn't need 'too much toggle switches or anything'. I really love the DS-1, and the only thing wrong with it, is the TONE! (kaya naaawa ako pukpukin, barinahin, at lagyan ng maliit na kambyo..hehe)
Here's the
soundclip for all of you....pagpasensyahan nyo na, one take lang yan, medyo may hum dahil medyo malapit ako sa amp + i don't have a noise gate. I played the intro track from extreme and tried to doodle at the end
