yes from Guitar Pusher - I visited their HQ buti umabot late na kasi ako lumabas office. GP peeps are really nice i told them that I read reviews and consulted active forumers ng talk.philmusic sabi ko din na pg20 is getting good reviews here for an "entry level" guitar. They are actually happy about what they heard. I also shared yung story ko about my first guitar from lyric and they laughed haha

brushed on my skills last night :) haha I learned some novice level songs All of Me and Hey Brother - anong marerecommend nyo na easy songs na famous kahit hindi contemporary times?

Una kong nagustohan is epiphone les paul special ii kaso out of stock na pala dun sa bibilhan ko.
Yung isa kong nagustuhan sa kanila is yung epiphone faded g400 which is available pa so inorder ko na.

yeah! SG can go metal and the guitar you've picked is an entry - mid level guitar. You'll never go wrong with that, the only thing is kelangan mo ng matinding multi-effects or pedal to achieve a metal sound using an SG compared if you are using jacksons,Ibanez,LTD loaded with EMG pickups.

+1 its a great guitar pero kung talagang metal, palitan din ng pickups :) kung old school metal, kaya naman yung stock somehow. multi effects talaga para madali humanap ng tone. congrats sa bagong gitara!

Dont rush things para sulit lalo. Pwede na ang secondhand amp. Just ask for suggestions if maghahanap ka na sa classifieds :-)

Hi Guys,
For the first time, na piktalan ng string ung epiphone les paul special II (Indonesia) ko.

A set-up is always worth it if it will be handled by a real tech. to grade the necessity of having it setted-up you can always check your intonation and the playability of your guitar,if the deviation is way off you can have it seen by a tech at least. With regards to upgrading your tuners just ask yourself if you'll be vigorously playing with your guitar and if you can't tolerate the constant re-tuning;if your answer is yes then have a good quality machine heads installed, If no then its a good ear training for you to watch over your tuning vigilantly.

I'd suggest, stick with 10s hehehehe...nag 9s ako dati and ended up going back to 10s.

Okay talaga ipaset-up ang gitara, if you have old guitars, maganda din mag practice dun. I prefer setting up and intonating my own guitar para alam kong pasok sa panlasa ng daliri ko. hehehehe

Tuners, tama sinabi ni j.nikko3123

Tsaka pag di mo gusto yung tuning ratio nya, nonetheless, upgrades=extra bling, extra bling=extra expenses, extra expenses=needs extra cash...so yeah  :-D

It's nice to have it set up at first by a tech or luthier, to adjust the action, fretwork, eliminate buzz and dead spots, and other aspects of the guitar that involves playability, so that the guitar is at its best condition to suit your playing style. After that, tuning and intonation IMO should be something that a guitarist can do on his own, as they are the easiest, most important, and most recurring adjustments that need to be done before you even play. Then go back to the tech/luthier when it needs a good "overhaul" maybe half a year or even every two years depending on your playing and the condition of your guitar; or when you're switching styles altogether (blues to drop tuned metal, I'd go to a tech for adjustment).

As for tuners, tama, stock tuners are almost always fine. Usually it comes down to needing a different gear ratio and/or a locking tuner. For most people, stock tuners are fine; most can manage really slim tuning ratios and check the tuning every song or two, and for people with floyd trems, they have their locking nuts.

Wow, salamat sa madaming response nyo :)

Regarding learning to setup my own guitar vs bringing it to a guitar tech:
-Kaya nga pala na piktal ung string ko dahil sa kaka adjust ko ng intonation haha nanood lang ako ng vid sa youtube pano. XD So dahil jan, It's best to bring it to a guitar tech muna. Learn from the expert. XD

Regarding Tuners:
-I'll stick with the stock tuners. HAHA saka I play in a worship team so I'll always have the chance to tune in between songs.

1. Tune in standard.
2. Check pitch on 12th fret
3. Loosen string then pull to side
4. Adjust saddle
5. Repeat til okay.

Baka oras na din nung string. Stock string pa yun since December eh. XD

Hi guys. Question.

I have an RJ copy na Les Paul. Ang problem ko, pag naka isolate yung bridge, or yung neck pick up, may hiss. I'm thinking it's grounded. What do you think? i'm actually new to these stuff, so any tips are greatly appreciated

Thanks!

Wala dapat noticeable hum ang humbucker. Kung bago yan dalhin mo sa RJ. Pag luma dalhin mo sa guitar tech.

I see. Sorry for the incomplete info.

Nag huhum nga lang pala sya pag may overdrive, esp pag Compressed.

Thanks! Will probably bring this to a luthier one of these days.
