Great to know your guitar turned out well.

I guess you'll be needing something to lubricate your new bone nut. Just don't use pencil lead kung ayaw mong mapagalitan katulad ko dati. Hahaha...

i....... Used............. it.......... IS IT BAD???????????

Ooohhh... I'm afraid so.

Sa simula, it really helps in lubricating the nut. The guitar stays in tune divebomb after divebomb. But succeeding applications become less and less effective and the deposits on the nut slots build up in time. In the long run, your guitar becomes more difficult to tune. Worse, it deadens the sound of the strings. And mahirap siyang linisin.

I watched Jun as he had to lightly re-file my nut's slots just to clean up the gunk, at the same time repeatedly telling me not to use pencil lead again. That was the only time he ever got close to scolding me like a delinquent school boy. Hehehe, I'm sure he's not going to do that to other customers. We were already close friends by then, so ok lang sa akin na pagsabihan niya ako ng ganun.  And besides, he was right. Napansin ko lang yung amount ng sustain na nawala sa tunog ng gitara ko when he demo'ed it to me before and after the nut cleanup. I never used pencil lead again. lol...

You might want to explore those instead.

One of the best if not the best.

Basta, you can never go wrong with Jun Castro.

ayos!

Your observation is correct. He can do just about anything, pero set-up ang specialty ni Jun. Kung ok na sa yo yun, then go for it.

But if you want a lot of options for your guitar's paint job, try others first. I've seen Elegee guitars with matte/oil finish. Ayos yung trabaho. For nitrocellulose lacquer, nandyan din si Arie or micsis. I don't know if any of them use shellac, though.
