Sige sir. Salamat! Might stick to remo nalang.
Pag mas makapal ba sir na head mas focused ang tunog saka bawas overtone? Naka Die-Cast hoops ako sa 14x5.5 ko eh.
Naka moongel lang ako pero pag walang moongel sobrang lakas ng overtone. Hehehe
How about EC Reverse Dot(2-ply) or EC1 Reverse Dot(1-ply) over Hazy 300?
Thicker/two ply heads usually means more focused sound and less overtones, however katulad ng sabi ni Ralph, sa audience POV mas dead sya kaysa sa naririnig mo.
I suggest getting the EC1 Reverse Dot or the Genera Dry, maybe even a Remo Ebony Ambassador as single ply options. Enough dampening to reduce overtones but less likely to kill your sound because they're still fairly open. For two ply options, never go for dampened heads: Evans G2 Coated/Remo Coated Emperors are already very good and pretty popular choices. If you want a fat sound, I wouldn't go further than Evans Onyx or Remo Ebony Emperors. I have Evans Blue Hydraulics on my snare and while it still has overtones audible on at the driver's seat, it's waaaaaaaaaay dead to the audience (molasses
If you want to have an idea of how it might sound to the audience without leaving the kit, try wearing some ear protection and play the kit. I have Mack's Ear Plugs (P750 at True Value, pretty good investment!), and it translates the sound pretty well; but normal carpenter's earmuffs will do (P150-300 lang yan). Play the snare wearing them, that's
probably how the audience hears it. "Less" overtones perceived.
