Yes......currently buying and will still buy original to support the music industry.
as musicians and patrons of music, the only means of keeping the music alive is to buy music(short of saying monetize the industry). Without the funding, there will be no music to listen to. Many will disagree as you read this but the reality really bites. Imagine yourself as a budding composer/musician/aspiring rockstar, how do you think you'll fund your talent when no one is paying for your music?
At the end of the day CASH still counts and even the most artistic person will need moolah to get by his daily nuances. Yes it is a vicious cycle that everything has a price but that's how things are. Think of it this way...nothing in life is free.
I strongly believe that for musicians to survive, they should be the first to support that buying original(may it be indie or label produced)will keep the music alive.
Moving forward maybe 7 years from now....indie production will be as common as buying pandesal from your favourite bakery...but mind you...commercial success cannot be achieved by merely posting your music on youtube....therefore support from the labels is still necessary, therefore you still need to make compromises from labels that can truly sell your music on a commercial level..ergo musicians/composers need to sacrifice their artistic freedom in exchange for marketing support....
BOTTOMLINE: Musicians need money, how do we get money? sell music...how do we sell our music to cover our cost? sell it according to industry practice.
LET US SUPPORT ORIGINAL PRESSED MUSIC TO KEEP OPM ALIVE!!!!
