Title: A good alternative to a practice pad
Post by: nylon on April 12, 2010, 05:57:17 PM

I use a mouse pad, sticked it on a flat surface... then viola... instant practice pad...

for arm strength and endurance, unan ang gamitin.

for wrist/finger movement, ilalim ng mousepad or hardbound na libro.

yup... and its gon' hurt every step you go further

if it hurts, then you're duing good. unless mali ang technique. :-D

wla nmn "mas magandang unang gamitin" pre. depende yan sa purpose mo o kaya sa type ng music na tutugtugin mo. usually you use traditional grip for faster strokes and for the ghost notes, so if ur up for jazz maganda tlga mag trad grip. although you can also use match for jazz, the match grip's real use is in power and loudness, so it really fits rock and other modern types of music. i suggest you study both to get more flexibility.

think of joey jordison, he plays drums for slipknot and have his other band as the lead guitarist. not sure with your case since metal is different from classical.

madami na rin akong nakitang mga ganyan sir, ung mga musikero na pinag sasabay sabay ung mga instrument na aralin, its nice and all pero the thing is hindi sila ganun ka lalim sa kaht anung instrument nila. i mean if you really want to get deeper and get your game on sa isang instrument, you really need to spend lots of time and attention sa isa lng.

although drummers like marco minnemann, thomas lang, benny greb ay all great great drummers pero they still play guitars for the sake of the recording lng. instead na kumuha pa sila ng guitarist sila n lng tapos they play the drum parts na rin. kayo po sir  :-D

Nothing is better.  :-) Depende sa player un. Pero pag nagsstart I always suggest Matched grip. Its more natural kasi. But I also suggest you try both and even develop both  :-)
The more you know. The more you can facilitate the band in your music.

ako sa akin lng i think ok nmn ung pinag sasabay ung two instrument at laking tulong to sa pag syncronize mo sa pag tugtug kso big problem mdyo mahihirapan ka i determine which of the instrument ung maggng specialty mo pero its a good thing na marunong ka sa lahat diba!!!
