Title: PAISTE cymbals thread
Post by: ciro on June 24, 2006, 09:40:34 PM

Title: Paiste 402... bakit wala binebenta d2?
Post by: peeves24 on June 25, 2006, 09:43:50 AM
out of production na yan bro. tsaka entry level lang sya, dati ang paiste alpha ride sells for 8k to 10k brand new sa rj pero ang 402 e 2 notches lower pa so mas mura pa yun (302,402,502,802 na naging alpha later on)

You can PM that question to Mr. Audiophile himself on the boards... Mr. Tarkuz Tocatta

If there are people here who can afford K's and K customs, there will be people who will buy (at least) 2002's. Plus, I think since we're not in the US (where the Zildjian factory is), the prices of Paiste, Sabian and Zildjian will be pretty much the same... hindi magiging mas mahal ang Paiste like it is on EBay (I hear Paiste's cheaper than Zildjian in Europe).

^^ Onga, may Signatures pala.  Kinakabag yata ako.

Why not 2002s?  They're like the Paiste standard line.

OT: Since Audiophile's here in this thread na.... have you guys ever thought of carrying Istanbul (Mehmet or Agop) or Bosphorus?

^^ yeah Pao, mahirap nga iben...

Anyways, dude, may darating akong 14 Mehmet Trad hats this August. I won it in EBay for only $95(!!!), and I had it sent to my mom's house para makatipid sa shipping. My brother's bringing it here when he visits.  Balitaan kita chong.

Pero shet, my set-up's complete na e (sobra pa,actually) and I really want to buy this Greco.

So much gear, so konti da cash.

Thank you for your invaluable feedback. No offense taken, so not to worry. We deeply appreciate your kind comments on the range of cymbals we carry and that you have taken some time to talk to us.

As you may have noted, we carry a small assortment of cymbals from Paiste. I fully concur with you that Paiste also has the 2002s as standard line. They have many models that certainly belong on many a drummer's wish list. Unfortunately, we have not received any inquiry on the 2002s but we shall consider your suggestion.

Istanbul and Bosphorus were offered to us but we had to decline  because we would like to focus on one cymbal brand only. Unfortunately, each brand that a distributor represents is the result of a well-deliberated business decision, a marriage of sorts that carries with it a world of responsibilities.

Meanwhile, please feel free to visit Audiophile for more information on our products. We hope to be of service to you someday.

edit:

YAHOOO MY WALLET IS SAFE!!! 25k yung ride at short ako ng 3k. wala lang masaya lang ako kasi ibig sabihin may pangkain pa ko bukas hanggang sa susunod na sweldo  :D

edit ulit:

Post by: jeva on September 06, 2006, 12:14:49 AM
First of all, Im a newbie. Just got the drums coz I wanted to have as a past time. I am not inlcined to music. I may only be playing roughly 20 days in a yr... bout 2 hrs the most in that 20 days.

Now, Im planning to get an additional cymbal for an added sound in my ( and bros) kit. Now the kit only has a stock Pearl Hi hat and 18"Crash/ride. I plan to add a little extra sound. I dont have much budget, and even if I do, since Im new, Im not that keen to spending much for the cymbals.

what are your comments about PAISTE BRONZE 502 SPLASH?

I have seen some post here regarding the the cymbals they sell, I did contact some of them. Basically, price where in my reach. But, I was wondering, shuld I get what they sell or opt for a new one, the series which I mentioned. I saw this 502 splash at Audiophile website.

Enlighten me please, is it right to go for the cheaper one but new, or an older one but more expensive?

Thanks for Reading, I hope you could give your insights..

Paiste 502 line is ok. I happen to own a 502 ride that I bought years ago sa RJ nung nagbebenta pa sila ng Paiste. I still love it and use it today.

:-P) ehehehe...

In terms of Affordability, Durability and excellent sound... go for the Paiste 201 bronze cymbals... If you want Affordable Effects PST3 ang bilhin mo... mura lang effects cymbals nun... I bought a PST3 effects pack (18"china and 10"splash) for only $70 in the states... It's like buying 2 cymbals for the price of one! and they sound really nice! un ang maganda sa Paiste eh... I suggest you buy in the states if you have relatives there... kasi mas mura pag dun eh... I hope this helps!

(eg. 402, 101, PST3, 802)

Rare talaga mga paiste dito.  Luckily I got an old used Paiste 2002 22"ride from a friend (1978 - based on the serial number).  Cleaned it up and fix the small keyhole defect with a metal eyelet.  I can't imagine that a 22" ride to be crashable.  Very nice sounding cymbal, clear ping and controlled wash considering its size.  I also got a 14" 2002 Sound edge hihats.  Actually not really my kind of sound, its good for semi open playing because it has some weird overtones when played closed.  But when I paired it with my Zildjian quickbeat bottom with the Paiste on top, its a different story, very crisp yet tight and articulate when closed and sizzly when open.  Another precious gem that I got when I went to HK and got a 18" Paiste traditionals thin crash.  Very nice sounding, I can't describe the sound well but its quite different from Zilds and Sabians.  It's not really that dark and its shimmer is what Paiste is known for.  Very unique sounding cymbal and one of my favorite crash.  Here are the pics:

22" 2002 Ride (this pics shows that the keyhole is not yet repaired by an eyelet, it was just a round aluminum plate glued at the bottom.

I believe Paiste has the greatest sounding entry level cymbals in the market today.
302's are pretty good sounding than the other counterparts. I remember last year i sold my 16 inch A custom Crash and let my 16" Paiste 502 crash stay along with my K customs. Labo no?

pano nila ginagawa yung color?  :? :-o
Title: Re: Paiste cymbal setups
Post by: drumster on January 04, 2007, 04:12:10 AM
Paiste's color treatment method on their cymbals is a well-guarded secret.

From Paiste's website (http://www.paiste.com/faqs/default.php?faqcategoryid=6&faqid=23#faq23):

Can you tell me more about your colored cymbals?

The application of colorsound cymbals were developed to visually enhance the cymbals during a time when the drumming community demanded it. With the music community always changing and evolving, the demand for colored cymbals declined which Paiste recognized. Considering these changes Paiste decided to discontinue the colored series.

The series that included colored cymbals were the Colorsound 5, 2000 Colorsound, Visions and Rainbow Series. With regards to how the color is applied; the pigment used and exact nature of Paiste's ColorSound application process is not public information. Sorry, but some secrets need to be kept.

Any Paiste cymbal is available in black for a 30% surcharge. Because the cymbal is made in Switzerland, the lead time is 4 to 6 months. You can make custom orders through your local drum shop.

mukhang mei change of heart.. parang gusto ko nang mag paiste.. eheheh.. not because of its fancy looks.. but to try something new.. pwede nyo po bang i-site dito ang comparisons ng Paiste to Zildjians? like ano ang katumbas ng K, A, Z, etc. type ng zildjian sa Paiste?

cheers!!!

zildjian's ZHT line ang pinakamalapit in terms of sound, nandun yung metallic, chunky overtone. wala halos equivalent sa tunog ang paiste sa high end zildjian at sabian. iba kasi yung alloys na gamit nila. using paiste is also an acquired taste. even their high end lines would sound like sabian B8 to the uninitiated leading to disappointments. its best you dont compare brands and just listen to the sounds.

listen to old police songs, they are representative of the paiste sound

@harugrugrug

Sir Alvin, We used Paiste 201 Bronze nung battle of the bands namin last Feb, ung sound nila pag pinakinggan mo sa malayo...ANG GANDA ng TUNOG!....pero pag ikaw mismo ung pumalo sa cymbals, ....di halata na maganda ung tunog niya....

Paiste PST3 ain't too bad... but if I'm going to spend a lot of money on cymbals I'd go for a PST5 or Paiste Alpha... both are mid-end and semi-satisfactory for me... but it's all up to the sound preferences of your drummer friend.

How do you pronounce "Paiste"?

The correct pronunciation for "Paiste" is "Pie-stee".

Stagg sells well, Saluda should too. it provides even more options at a better price point than the big brands, so we as consumers also win. plus Saluda has a better international reputation for consistency and overall quality than Stagg (which, in turn, is more than a bit underrated).

tsaka kung magpapasok lang rin ng Istanbul, Agop na lang... that way you also bring in Alchemy for the rock drummers.

Paiste 2002 and Alpha in 16-20 crashes, 20/22 rides, and 14/13 Mastersound hats should sell ok. Signature and Rude should sell more slowly, pero have similar recall to 2002. Paiste 20 or Traditionals din, pantapat sa higher end Zildjians/Sabians.

505 could be a cheaper alternative to 2002, pero discontinued na e.

Personally, I want 2002s or Giant Beats. :D

To give value to it compared to Zildjian/Sabian, marketing na lang ang katapat (pressure kay barabbas... hehehe).

Istanbul Mehmet/Agop is a good alternative to Paiste. Pero Alchemy, Turkish or Mehmet Samatya cymbals are better-priced, for similar quality and variety. Among these, I'm voting for Turkish and Mehmet Samatya to have the most commercial viability.

Since price is an issue (*the* issue) sa Paiste, why not offer real friendly (or ingenious) pricing/installment/payment schemes na wala sa JB or Yupanx?

If youre bringing in Paiste Signatures, ensure you stock up the following. they sell like hotcakes coz theyre very sought after here in uk, for their unique sounds, but definitely not for their prices. imho, irrespective of their commercial viability in the phils, they really sound the business. I for one would happily give up all my sabians and zildjian crashes for em.

Basta ba laging may sale! By the way, up to how many percent ba usually ang dinidiscount nyo sa mga Tama and Paiste products kapag sale?

I'm curious with Paiste's new Twenty series, which is their rendition of Turkish-style hand-hammered cymbals (Paiste is proven and well-known for its quality Euro-style cymbals).  I wanna see and hear Paiste's interpretations of the rich, dark, and complex-sounding Turkish-style cymbals (which are the cymbal types Zildjian and Sabian are well-known for).

Sir Fingerzap, Musta po? Thanks for the questions. but unfortunately audiophile does'nt have an annual sale. we dont have a yearly SALE on any of our products unless its absolete or discontinued. We usually give discounts depending on the bracket that has given to us. Each discount has its price brackets. Our maximum discount on any product is 10% if you reach the amount of 25k. below that is 8% downwards 5% to 3%... depending on the price brackets...

I see. Ok lang yun. So ano, mapaparating ba natin yung entire 2002 series? I'm keeping my options open (right now I'm looking at Zildjian A's and A Customs) for the kit that I'm building but we never know, I just might get all the cymbals from the 2002 series (I might order through Music Box). We'll see. I currently am asking JB Pampanga for a quotation on my choice A's and A Customs. And they're gonna have to charge me yata on the freight.

Paiste has that unique sparkling shimmer that I only hear from paiste.  I have a 17" Signature full crash and its really smooth yet cutting.  Also got a 18" Traditionals thin crash.  Its like a signature crash with a darker sound.  The more you learn paiste's sound, you'll crave for more!  :-D

Paiste 3000 is the top of the line from Paiste in the 80's after the success of 2002 but was discontinued when they introduced the Signature series.  2002 was also discontinued after the introduction of 3000 and later on was revived and still available up to now.  3000 series is almost the same as the 2002, but they made it a bit heavier in weight and they use signature lathing on it.  It has more wash and shimmer compared to a bit focused and controlled 2002.  I used to have a paiste 3000 18" crash before and has hoped that I didn't let it go.  Now I have some paistes and one of my favorite is my 2002 22" ride!  The hihat is also a good deal, whether it's medium, heavy or sound edge.  What particular model is it?  What other paiste's that he has?  I might be interested as well!  :-)  Be sure also to audition them if it fit your ears and what genre you wish to use it.

ayaw nya kasi paheram e, papatayin daw sya ng syota nya,  yung regarding sa hi hats, paiste 3000 lang din nakasulat, worth it na ba yon? maproproduce nya ba yung tunong na thisk...thiskk.. parang travis barker sound?? tsaka sulit na ba yung 3k ko for the hats, yung ride nabile ko na muakng ok naman yung sound nya, sizzling ata yng tunong. ehhehe. kapal nung ride bigat pa.  :-D

To be sure, check mo kung may engraved na "PAISTE 3000" plus may serial number sa ilalim to check if its genuine.  Kung "medium hihat" model yun, medyo bitin yung chick sound.  If you're after a clear chick sound, look for the heavy hihat model, its not really too heavy, parang new beat lang ng zildjian ang weight pairing nya. Check mo yung bottom nung hihat na binebenta sayo, pag rippled yung bottom, it's a sound edge hihat.  Ok rin ito pero you cannot get a tight funky chick pero its chick sound is cutting and loud, bagay ito pang semi open playing.

:? ok ba yng sound nun??
Title: Re: PAISTE cymbals thread
Post by: wipeout on August 20, 2008, 11:58:45 PM
Kung rippled bottom, sound edge nga yun.  That's a bargain for 3k!  I have a 14" Paiste 2002 Sound edge hihat which i think is comparable.  For me, its not a heavy type of cymbal pair, its a medium pair with a rippled edge design.  It like a medium weight cymbal set with more projection and chick sound (rippled bottom prevents airlock).  With this characteristics, it is responsive, works great in live playing, stick sound is articulate, projects well and clear.  When playing with soft passages, its a bit loose sounding even if you pressed hard on the pedals.  It's a great classic rock hihat.  Listen to John Bonham to have an idea of its sound. Its bright yet warm.  Always check out before you buy if it will fit your requirements in sound.  :-D

Sabian HHX Evolution O-zone crash has that perforated holes on the bow of the cymbal.  It produces a crash-china effect.  It was designed by Dave Weckl.

I'm not too familiar with Paiste..since hands on the particular brand was pretty much slim back in the 90s until now.  RJ carried so little of the Paiste line that as a newbie back then, I thought Paiste's suck..until I found out Eric Kretz uses them!  And I forgot what line made up his cymbal set, but Core and the rest of the STP catalogue, along with the Gin Blossom's two album, Paiste blew me away with loud and full and washy cymbal sounds.

If you are after the HHX sound, the options are:

Traditonals series
New Signature Dark Energy series
Twenty Series

All of the series mentioned above are not available locally except the twenty series, (there are a few stocks and models in audiophile)

If you are buying from the US, this is the best time to buy because the prices of Paistes there are very much cheaper compared to Sabians. Like for example this comparison:  13" Paiste Twenty Hihat $259 compared to 13" Sabian AA or AAX hihats $289.  Paiste twenty is already hand hammered, while AA or AAX are machine hammered.  Both are using B20 alloy.  Prices are based on www.massmusic.net

Wow!  That was some time ago, I started 1986.  My first cymbal is a zildjian quickbeat hihat.  After that I got a 16" Paiste 505 Crash then a 3000 reflector crash.  I was aiming for an all Paiste setup but due to its limited availability, I go back to Zildjian and sell my Paistes.  Since there are just a few Paiste users here, I'd like to know your setup. What are your Paiste models?  Do you still have them now?  I'd got a chance to have another paiste setup I think 2004 and had acquired a complete set one cymbal at a time.  All I can say is they have their own character far from the usual model and brands that are common here.  They have a beauty by its own.

grabehan noh? haha nabigla ako e.

Ako din nabigla sa price ng Paiste dito sa audiophile even though that i work here... Well wala kami magawa dahil mahal talaga ang mga paiste products... Dahil Euro ang currency supplier namin.. Sa Switzerland at Germany.... Kaya mahal talaga sya.... Mind you that's only 2002 pa lang. What if kung Signature series ang pinasok ko.. Lalo na mas mahal... Actually we have a signature cymbals dito 20" Dry Ride and 16" Power crash 14" hats.... Each is 20k plus ang price kaya until now hindi pa rin nabibili.. Mahal talaga... hehehehe But that's only the signature series... Hindi pa yan ang top nila... ang pinaka mataas nila is yung Traditional series yan ang grabe sa price... It's true marami talaga naka Zildjian dito dahil sa affordable talaga kahit papano dahil US Dollar ang currency... Paiste kasi hindi kami basta basta makapagpasok ng cymbals dahil sa mahal talaga sya. But kng sa tunog lang ang paguusapan Grabe naman tumunog ang Paiste cymbals... Maglalaway ka talaga sa sound and crispt... Maririnig nyo yan this coming saturday sa Clinic namin... Anyway yan lang maisheshare ko for now... Thanks and God bless....

As for me bro, I haven't tried 201 series so I have no idea.  I think they are made of brass.  Better get bronze cymbals like B8, B20, etc.  But for a budget line cymbals in Paiste, I think PST5 are decent sounding cymbals.  They are already bronze cymbals, i.e. B8 alloy.

There is no Twenty series sound edge hihat but in signature series, there is.  If you go to the US, you can check out www.massmusic.net.  They have Paistes which are priced competitively.  I ordered my drum gear from them.  Actually Paistes are cheaper these days compared to Zildjian and Sabian in the US.

If you have some relatives in the US and your looking forward to have some paistes in you set up, now is the right time as they are much cheaper in the US.  Example: 13" Paiste twenty hihats $259  compared to $289 for a 13" Sabian AAX hihats.  Paiste is hand hammered, AAX is machine hammered.  I had tried the twenty series as well, oh my!  :-o  Hope to have that someday in my setup.

massmusic is located in Arizona.  Don't know about the taxes.  I think its approx 8% if you're a resident of Arizona.  I may be wrong.  If you are ordering from the US but outside Arizona, no taxes, shipping charge lang idadagdag which is approx $15 for regular size items.

Title: Re: PAISTE cymbals thread

Rudes are designed for heavy rock or punk music.  They have a strong attack and cutting sound.  They could be comparable to Z customs in terms of design, i.e. unlathe surface.  Although I think Z customs are now lathe or it may vary depending on the model.  ALpha's are midrange series.  They sound decent and offer good value for the money.  I think its comparable to B8 pro by Sabian.

sa pagkaintindi ko, b8 is not an alloy that is cast from individual ingots.

bro, just a small correction. paiste 201 is bronze. B8 bronze to be exact. it is a cymbal set for starter drummers. paiste 101 is the set that is made out of brass. same goes for PST5 and PST3. but i think PST5 sounds better than 201's don't you think guys

From drumshed.com

"I thought it would be easier to start a new thread to expand on some thoughts that stem from the Paiste Sig thread...

Now my cymbal knowledge starts around the late 70's. I really don't know about any earlier, vintage stuff, so. Back then, there were really only 2 pro quality lines of cymbals...Zildjian & Paiste. Sabian didn't kick in til about '82 and Ufip's really weren't to be had here in the States. With Zildjian, you had to hit 10 A 18" Medium crashes to find one you liked. That was their selling point, the supposed uniqueness of their cymbals being all slightly (or not) different. Paiste, you tried a 2002 18" crash and then another and another and they would sound all basically the same. That was their selling point. This personally appealed to me more. The consistancy. I also preferred the sound. I knew nothing of the difference in alloys used back then. I just liked what I heard.

Now, I think the reason that most like or are "trained on" the B20 sound is most of us are accustomed to that sound through Zildjian and then later Sabian. Zildjian moved a lot of cymbals and there were a lot more of them in the States than Paiste's. Plus, Paiste was definitly going their own direction, which made sense. Why be like Z, your competition?

Now with B8, it is made & marketed by the Z & S companies as a "budget" line for good reason. They could easily make a pro level B8 cymbal & Zildjian just about did that in the 80's with the Amir line. If Z & S were to make a pro B8 line, it would take the significance away from their "superior" B20 lines & B20 being the significant alloy with B8 being less so. B8 "can" also be made more cheaply compared to B20. Also keep in mind they are in competition with Paiste. What does Paiste use...B8 (along with their propietary Sig alloy B15). Obviously, Paiste has proved that B8 can be used for pro level cymbals starting with the Giant Beats to the 2002's which a lot of people have referred to as "the" rock cymbal sound for their cut, clarity & brightness. So, B20 was "marketed" as the superior alloy compared to inferior B8 and other alloys.

Now, it was mentioned that Zildjian claims to have not changed their cymbal making process. In effect, they have changed. It also seems that a lot of their current cymbals (especially the A's, A Custom's & Z's) have gotten thicker. This has happened with the company going after the younger players into rock & punk. Just look at their marketing strategies. Z has also changed in that they are the mighty Zildjian and they are the top selling cymbal so why change? They are about moving more product & staying on top rather than expanding, improving their cymbal lines. At least, that's how I see it. Plus, they move a ton of the ZBT crap to the kids that want to be like Travis & Adrian. Sitting on their laurels perhaps?

Meanwhile, you have Paiste developing their own propietary alloy and expanding that into the wonderful Traditional & Dark energy lines. This company truely pushes the envelope more than the others I think. Sabian making great B20 cymbals that are what Zildjians wish they were along with excellent customer service and the Vault Tour. Then you have Ufip getting more market share with their unique rotocasting methods along with Meinl who is like Paiste with all these different lines with different sounds & alloys. Further, you have all the Turkish boutique companies (Agop, Bosphorus, etc.) that are just kicking ass with what could be seen as the same as the custom drum & snare market for cymbals. They are doing very innovative stuff with B20 with all the different hammering & lathing used. Zildjian better take a look over their shoulder! Me, I just don't care for anything they have to offer. I am so underwhelmed with their pies when I go into a shop & bang on some.

Then there is Sam Ass and the possibility of not carrying Paiste's anymore. You won't find a lot of Paiste's in GC either save for the occasional special deals. SA & GC are huge, publicly heald corporations that have to answer to shareholders. So, they are all about moving volume & making lots of money, which is why they sell a crapload of ZBT's and budget kits to the kids. "Hey, play brand x & be just like (insert high profile endorsee name)." It sure as hell ain't about quality or customer service for that matter. It's the equivalent to going to a grocery store full of instruments. If Paiste would do a serious push on ther Alpha's or even the PST5's they would put a serious hurt on the ZBT & Sabian B8 market as these sound a whole lot better for the price. Ok, I've babbled long enough!"

maybe kasi SABIAN has its eyes only on one fierce competitor as their "sole" competitor", ZILDJIAN, na hindi pa gumagawa ng high end na B8 models? well, as far as I know. meron na din ba ang Zildjian?

I definitely agree with you plep.
Pag darker sound ang hanap mo go for b20.
B8 is more workable/flexible than B20... kaya pwedeng gawing sheet, di siya kasing brittle ng B20 due to lower amount of tin.

I second your opinion.  I also believe that Paiste twentys are much more comparable to K or K customs as they are both made from B20 alloy and hand hammered.  Actually K and K customs are machine hammered but controlled by a computer to do random hammering hence to simulate "hand hammering."  A and A customs are machine hammered and hammering marks are arranged in a certain pattern to produce brighter sounds.

Having tried Paiste and Zildjians side by side, I can say that they are very much different, as each brand is made in a certain way.  They may be close but there are still some unique character in them that differentiate them from each other.

Mga sir! I just want to inquire about this ride of mine.

It's an 18" Paiste Innovations Crash-Ride that I've had for quite some time now and I tried researching online about the Innovations line, but I found nothing, not even reviews for other cymbals from the same line.

May mga alam ba kayo tungkol dito? Like pros and cons? TiA.  :-)

Alloy: CuSn8 Bronze, also known as "2002 Bronze" in a new production method.

Cast ba yan or Sheet? thanks.

IMHO i think the only thing that makes this cymbal _________ is the slipknot logo. but sound wise, malapit syempre sa traditional alphas. at malayo ang tunog nito sa pitsblak.

let your ears decide bro! But for reference lang, PST5 is made out of B8 alloy while the Sabian XS20 is made out of B20. In general, B8 is bright sounding while B20 is darker. But there is always an exception to that especially when it comes to paiste cymbals because I believe that they have developed the B8 alloy... their old series like 2002's, Giant Beats, Rudes and Alphas are made out of B8 (they call it CuSn8) pero ibang iba talaga ang tunog nila as compared to other B8 cymbals.

Sa sabian xs20 naman, i love the china's and crash! Hats and ride nila di ko pa na try in a full band setting so hindi ako makaka comment.

hth bro.

Lurker lng ako dito bumibisita paminsan minsan... Share ko lng tong video na to very helpful sa pag identify ng sound ng Paiste series... Hope magustuhan ng hindi pa nakaka panood...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LIV1OwEPRo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LIV1OwEPRo)

I really like the sound of PST5 set lalo na ung hats pasira lang sakin ung sound ng rides masyadong ringgy na medyo high pitch nadidistract ako. Any way how much ang set po ba ng pst5? Planning to partner it with tama silverstar.

Enjoy your drumming! =)

Post by: onori on March 07, 2013, 10:38:12 AM

Avedis series (wide groove lathing) na naging A Custom series (fine lathing).

Eto yung link, ano masasabi nyo? :)

The Paiste 2002 Wild and Power crash! (19, 18) really a great blend! If you're looking for exotic and modern sound that could blend into any situation, these are definitely for you! Literally not that common modern bright sound.  :-o
Also the 10" Alpha Metal Splash, HUGE SOUND! Very noticeable

Definitely sticking to Paiste.
