hey thanks for the history lesson PurpleHaze, I hear ya man, it's a challenge and we all know naman that a Makati locale is not the simple answer, it's just that the opportunity is there. truth be told, we've done like 5 rounds all over the Metro and sadly, there is no solid audience for live blues music gigs. That's why the question/survey.

It's good to get a reality check like you provided here PurpleHaze. Would you reckon sa Malate pwede? hahaha. ;)

yup, +1 ... more songs, good vocals, shorter solos... sort of a blues band version of what the band Overdrive dishes out?

Food for thought/Question: Does the sophisticated, moneyed Makati crowd want just "plakado" performances or will loose jams and extended solos still be acceptable?

Hukayin ko lang comment ni Veggie from weeks ago.

Malaking bagay nga yung more songs in a set, and maybe trying to get a variety of blues styles in too. We also need to move away from the image of simply being guitar-driven music. Of course long-time blues listeners know it really isn't, but with the extended solos ganun ang nangyayari. Well, ang sarap din naman ng loose and extended jams...for us guitarists/musicians! But we are trying to win an audience. Besides, a lot of improvisation can take place outside the solos.

The music has always been great. Music before musicianship? Or at least music closely followed by musicianship. :-)

Sa Tingin ko mas putok ang blues sa Malate. Kung saan mas nagpupunta ang turista at expats (mahilig sa blues). Walang problema sa hardcore blues lovers talagang pupunta an kahit saan. Yung 'crowd drawing factor' may count for drawing the 'casual' blues listener.
Extended solos may not sit well for casual listeners. One chorus or a couple will do. Sana the band features aside from guitar, piano/keyboard and harp player.
