Dimarzio Area series. 58 neck /58 middle/61 bridge yung ginagamit ni Lincoln Brewster alder + maple din yung Strat niya. If my Tele GAS wears off and I decide to keep my Strat, I would go for 61/61/Virtual Solo. I prefer a pickup with more of a humbucker character in the bridge (warm, round tone for leads) and the Virtual Solo has that. Yung Area 61 mas-SRV ang dating.

Thanks! What if dual rail type na pickup sa bridge? mababalance kaya siya sa output ng area series?

Hmm, depende eh.

It won't bind or gnash with the strings as much as the metal butterfly-type string retainers, helping the guitar stay in tune while bending or using the trem.

... and it also comes in white. I use whichever matches the nut.

Thanks for the response Al. I was supposed to respond to the query but you explained it nicer...

Hi mga sir, pwede pong mag pa tulong sa project strat build ko? i usually play all around from jazz to blues to rock to country to rockabilly so medyo varied.
since i have no experience using most of the parts that i plan to put, i want/need some advice on how they sound and feel. thanks :)

so eto ang plano ko:
basically ang strat na i pproject ko will be a squier bullet (since yun yung guitar ko ngayon, although i might buy a better guitar that would be more worth it to mod)
the mods will be: 1. hardware (nut, tremolo, block, tuners) 2. pickups 3. wirings scheme

for no.1 plano ko palitan yung nut ng graphtec (cause i use the trem alot), tas palitan yung stock trem ng mas stable. palitan din yung saddles ng graphite, pero pwedeng hindi na.]
insert a solid steel (or brass) block. tas locking tuners

for no.2 i havent decided which pickups to use (so i need some good suggestions. so far ang na gustuhan ko is yung GFS "jimi" staggered poles. or pickups using alnico 3 magnets).
but i do want to replace the bridge PUP with a bridge tele PUP.

for no.3,  eto ang pinaka "chaotic" for me. so ang plano is, 1 vol knob, 1 tbx control knob as my main  tone knob , tas yung isa di ko alam haha. as for the 5 way switch,
i found this mod that i really liked.
http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/fender/214625-how-beef-up-your-strat-tone-simple-wiring-mod-tutorial.html
gusto ko sana though malagyan ng out of phase ability yung strat. but i dont know how to do that. can you suggest any more mods (might it be basic or complex)?

so basically, project talaga siya na malaki. but the question/s are/is:
1. is it worth it?
2. how much estimated cost?
3. should i just buy a different guitar?
4. are there anymore concerns that i should be keeping in mind?

i really hope you can help me with this project :) rock on! \m/

my response to your query bro:
Best to buy a better guitar from the start. The Squier Bullet is not really ideal for upgrades due to inconsistency issues.

Add GFS to your option, I'll vouch for their Texas stagger strat set.  :-D

IMHO, Entwistle's best models are the ASN57 and the XS62N.

The ASN57 is the noiseless Single Coil of Entwistle.

IMHO ulit, the XS62N's are their best model for single coils. it's not a noiseless SC PU, but it doesn't get too noisy even when paired with a distortion pedal, bearable parin yung noise kumbaga. These are supposedly compared to the Texas Specials as far as my past online research is concerned.

You can listen to demos of the pickups in my Soundcloud Account :D

Hope this helps!

Thanks :)

SSS bro :)

For your bridge, I suggest you get stacked humbuckers or rails para kayang tumanggap ng distortion sounds less the noise.

For your neck, I'd get an alnico pickup na pure single coil talaga para you get the pure single coil tone. or a pickup with smooth highs. :D

Thanks for that helpful info bro. Thinking of the Hot Rails from SD. But di ba mawawala yung "Strat-tone" pag gumamit ako ng Hot Rails?
(Cool Rails, Vintage Rails at Hot Rails) Kasi essentially, humbuckers ung mga un di ba?
