Digitech RP6 (1996):
Overall Pros:
I'm happy with the sound on recording. Malinis sa mixer!
Effects Evaluation:
Silencer - 7/10
EQ - 10/10 - 3 band EQ, programmable freq/cut/boost
Compressor - 7/10 - lacks ïn-your-face-compression
Distortion - 6/10 - GNR type Grunge/OD is too mild - lacks other types of Disto
Reverb - 10/10 - programmable level, decay time, resonant freq, types
Flanger - 6/10 - good mix and sounds, lacks
Phaser - 10/10 - The best space sounding phaser I've ever tried so far
Pitch Bender(whammy) - 6/10 - Interesting effects, programmable, but signal gets muddy on some settings.
Pitch Shifter 10/10 - Programmable 2nd pitch (+/-24 frets from original note, adjustdable in cents(mild detune) = Great replacement for chorus(2nd voice set at 0, mild sharp (10 cents)on setting.
Panner 8/10 - Good stereo output, very transparent. No Jet Panner???
Tremolo - 10/10 - very transparent, highly versatile, no complains, 2 thumbs up.
Speaker emulator - 6/10 - Back in the day this was really great, slightly a notch lower than Sansamp GT1, but now Line 6 PODs took the throne.
WAH - 7/10 - You'll get the sounds you want but will take years of tweaking with Eq section, No manual switch.
Delay - 8/10 - Lots of options, 2000ms delay, dual timers, mix level, stereo options, 7 types.
Expression pedal = optical type, no pot.
40 user/40 factory presets
What sux :
1. Distortion button broke down 8 months after heavy abuse, replacement keeps getting burned. However, you can use the bank option looping all the effects chain and settings in one button to compensate for the lack of distortion switch.
2. Parameter and pedal buttons need cleaning if not used for a year(10 years from date of purchase, heavily exposed to dust, fog and rain). You have to open up the whole thing and clean it.
The best part:
It's been 13 years and I'm still using it.
