i have a digitech tonedriver and hothead..the 2 works well specially when you set tonedriver's morph at 4'o clock you could easily create a blusey drive with a distorted punch hehe.

bro, forget the hothead..mas ok pa rin ang ds-1. I like the grunge better than MT-2 mas mura pa! Pero kung gusto mo mas 'alive' sounding ang grunge mo cascade mo ng boss bd-2 or ts-7 modded to 808 specs. Cheap but quality sound is not bad as long as it sounds good!

+ ok ang digitech na analog series, sobrang tibay/bigat pwede mo gawing weapon, just in case

i prefer ds-1 over hothead rin.. sa grunge naman (hiram from the_jj hehe), ok ung drive nya.. grunge rin pili ko..
...or kng gsto mo less drive, pwde ka mag screaming blues, range nya is from od hangang dist.. very nice pedal.. altho it wasnt made for boosting.. may drive na cya kht sagad sa 0 ung gain.. hehe (kay the_jj rin ung screaming blues.. hehe

Korek! A great amp always has an awesome overdrive, un nga lang worth P50k ung marshall amp all-tube na trip ko  :-( so...stompbox na lang muna hehe..

i think i'm gonna get one stomp box from digitech.. guys.. sa tingin niyo ba ok ang magiging tunog ng bad monkey sa 15watts practice amp? ehehe.. bali parang first ever overdrive stomp box koh ito.. hehehe.. panay digital kc ginagamit koh eh.. pero now i'm falling in love with analog!! ehehe.. either the digitech bad monkey or the ibanez tubescreamer..

tapos next question.. anoh ba ang maganda high gain analog stomp box from digitech para mas "define" yun tunog ng mga shredding licks and riffs koh.. nakakalito e.. may nagsasabi na "hotrod" "hothead" "grunge" e yun death metal ba? :? plano koh din kc icombine with the bad monkey..

At first I really loved the tubescreamer (maxon od-9)....but after playing a lot with it, I realized it made my clean tone a little nasal & honky...though it sounded like tube, but I personally didn't like it to be in my pedalboard. My recommendation for you bro when budget & tone are both your concerns:

Overdrives:
Digitech Bad Monkey - not as nasal as the tubescreamer + the bass knob is very useful.

Boss BD-2 Blues Driver - this is my new favorite...it may sound like a fuzz pedal when gain is on max setting, but it definitely has no honky mids like a tubescreamer.

Boss SD-1 - smooth & creamy mids, but the bass is a little flabby & loose. A very effective pedal when you have a dark sounding guitar.

High Gain:
Digitech Grunge - I like the sound & harmonic content of this pedal...better than Metal Zone. But a little nasal when used for solo. -- use this only for Chuggy riffs! This can wake your room mate/neighbor with the tons of bass it has.

Boss DS-1 - sounded very versatile & smooth when modded.

stay away from the digitech death metal... The digitech grunge is more metal than that.  :-D

my 2scents!

are they exactly the same, in terms on sound?

will an ordinary 9v at 300mA be enough to power the digitech x-series? nabasa ko kase sa ibang forums na ang required voltage daw ng mga x-series is 9.6v at kpag 9v lng ang ginamit mo mag make raw ito ng humming sound wen turned on.

multipurpose adapter lng kase ginamit sa hot rod ko and yes it makes a humming sound wen turned on. at may plano parin akong bumili more x series peds. hehe

how bout using a customized 9v psu like pedalmax, sir monde's psu or kalikot audio psu, will this still happen?

mga digitech x-series masters tulong nman. ehehehe. tnx.

i have the x-series multichorus. yun na yun! heheh. it's a very versatile chorus. i use it even for my acoustic straight to the d.i. box, or with my strat. bit pricey for me but second hand would make it a very gud buy. Ü. i like it with the BM. ayus na ayus.
