wala akong screenshots eh pero i'll give you detailed instructions.
okay, given na ang IP ng modem is 192.168.1.1 ganito ang gagawin natin.
1. connect your laptop first to the linksys router alone. router and laptop only. then access the page :
192.168.5.1 using your browser.
2. i checked your modem's model number and found out that its also a modem router. meaning, that device alone can provide multiple ip addresses to accomodate all computers that will connect to the network. so since wireless ang kailangan mo for your laptop we will configure your linksys router as a wireless switch.
3. i'm sure you've already configured the wireless settings of the router including its security, ssid and channel. go under the set-up tab under basic set-up and disable the DHCP server. this function will allow the Aztech modem/router to be the gateway of your network.
4. still under the same page, change the LAN IP address to 192.168.1.2. then click on save settings. the reason we changed it is for you to be able to access both of the devices at the same time w/o the need to connect the computer to each device you just need to type their respective IP addresses since they are on the same IP segment.
example is if you want to change some settings in the Aztech modem just key in : 192.168.1.1
for the Linksys : 192.168.1.2 (say you want to change the name of your network or SSID etc.)
5. after saving all the settings, disconnect your laptop from your Linksys and run a cable from any LAN port of the Aztech modem to any LAN port of the Linksys router. make sure the corresponding lights are lit.
6. from your laptop, try to connect to the wireless network which is the name of the wireless signal that you named, then once its connected check your ip address, the IP address should be in a range of 192.168.1.100 or above. see if you can go online. if yes, then its done.
double check if your laptop is able to see both devices by going to the command prompt and type :
ping (space) 192.168.1.1 then hit enter - aztech modem
ping (space) 192.168.1.2 - linksys router
if both of them get 4 replies, that means that your laptop is able to see both devices and you are good to go.
if it doesn't work, call me i'm here at the office from 10PM to 7AM. 4238764 just look for gian.
