+1 for GFS and golden age from stewmac.. Though you might have trouble finding ones locally..

The "Gifmen" pickups from Lazer, which are MIK, at the very least, are half-decent. Yeah, they're decent in a "generic" kinda way. Try them, you could do worse with P500 bux.

I believe there are some folks here who can order online for you. Try browsing the classifieds nalang. :) They might still be relatively more expensive than the ones you mentioned though, around 1.5k to 2.5k per pickup. As opposed to about 4k for a single duncan.

Kung low ang budget, bakit papalitan mo pa yung stock?

Kung ako sa iyo, stick with stock na lang kung gumagana naman.    8-)

Ye, the chrome pickups are parang P450, the black plastic one (ala EMG) costs about P750 if I'm not mistaken. They're pretty decent.

While you're at it, you can also check out the Select by EMG pickups which are now locally available at PJC Music.

There's also those "powered by Lace" pickups. They cost like $20 each.

The Lace and Lace sensor pickups are very reasonably (read:cheaply) priced. One set for a strat or a tele costs a little less than USD$100

So far, just stay away from Sta Mesa and JB-Generic pickups. That's really pushing it. Unless you're close to desperate. Don't skimp on te 250 bux difference and just go Gifmen (Lazer) instead.

Hey before I forget, pay a visit to Jon Elegee. His custom-wound pickups are KILLER. And they won't exactly break your bank.

IMO, almost anything is better than stock RJ pickups. With the exception siguro of those underwound Sta Mesa pickups. Why...my RJ PRS, I replaced with JB-generics and the sound improved.
