hey, sir splint, since you can use ur cannon adap. for ur zoom, i can justify that the adaptor is 9v dc... but still u should check out the current rating of the adaptor.... exceeding the current rating of the zoom adaptor allowed could fry up ur zoom g2.1u.... it is safe to use if the current rating of the cannon is at LEAST SAME or lower than the current rating of the zoom adap.just my advice.... also u could ask nr kalikot audio, my electrical engineering classmate in m.i.t. ... he knows all the [gooey brown stuff] in adap/psu stuff man!!!! pm him to know more about this query...
Yung current rating ng adaptor dapat at least the same or
greater. Hindi masusunog yung Zoom sa mas mataas na current rating ng ibang adaptor. Ibig sabihin lang ng rating na yon, kaya niyang mag-supply safely ng ganon karaming kuryente.
Kung 300mA ang requirement ng G2.1u, meron pang spare current capacity yung mas matataas ang rating.
Ngayon kung mas mababang rating ang gagamitin mo, say 200mA, masusunog yung adaptor (or yung parts sa loob) dahil mas mataas na current ang dumaan kesa sa kaya niya.
Syempre given na dapat pareho yung voltage rating. Although hindi rin naman agad masisira yang Zoom kung masaksak mo sa 12V. Try mo yung IC regulated adaptors para mas smooth yung voltage na sinu-supply.
Yung orig na Zoom adaptor wala namang pinagkaiba sa ordinary na adaptor e. Tignan mo mabigat pa rin. Transformer, rectifier diodes at capacitor filters pa rin ang nasa loob niyan. Syempre business yan kaya sinasabi nila yung orig na adaptor ang gamitin mo.
Yung Boss ganon din. "Use Boss PSA/ACA adaptor only." Pero sa dinami-dami ng Boss users na kilala mo, ilan na ang nakita mong gumamit ng orig?
