Mr. Big Tone Report

Guitars used: (2) Ibanez Fireman S-S-S
Amps: (3) Marshall JCM 900 half-stacks.

Overall tone: VERY GLASSY and twangy. PG's tone the whole night was compressed and "bakal" for the most part, minus the bottom you used to hear from the Tone Zone humbuckers in the PGM series guitars. The infamous JCM900 compression was very evident. I was looking forward to something fatter-sounding such as what he got from the Marshall Vintage Modern amps. The Fireman sounded like a cross between a Strat and a Tele.

Great show nonetheless!

YUP. medyo mahina nga tunog ng guitars ni PG sa harap. and medyo hindi "heavy" hehe. sayang hindi ko sya nakita gamit yung ibanez humbuckers nya hehe

here bro,medyo di maganda quality ng photos ko kasi hd camcorder gamit ko intended for videos lang talaga..i know sir jcsantos has more detailed photos of pg using his dslr,we met there at the front..

Sulit naman kahit mukhang exhausted yung band since last leg na tayo ng asian tour for this round. Medyo bitin kasi Pat opted not to do a drum solo

naalala ko pinuna ni eric martin yung mga nagpunta lang dun para kumuha ng video hehe sana nanood na lang sila sa youtube o nag download na lang ng back to budokan torrent. napaka nonsense nga naman nandon kayo para mag enjoy hindi para kumuha ng video

bwiset yung nasa harap ko may dslr camera na sobrang lakas ng flash ang sarap patayin ang sakit sa ulo at sa mata pag kumukuha ng picture

yep. true. ibang iba yun dating nun crowd sa taas kumpara sa baba. sa baba puro nagvivideo yun nakikita namen e, pero nagulat ako sa mga nakapaligid samen, sumasabay talaga ang todo bigay sa bawat song. on top of that, yung nasa likod ko was a woman in her 40s ata, grey hair etc pero halatang big fan talaga siya, she did not care kung ano iisipin nung ibang tao pero grabe siya rumak out haha

parang [chewbacca] talaga yung mga nasa harap nung 1st two songs parang 90% ng nandon may hawak ng camera at kumukuha ng video nakakahiya parang na dismaya si eric martin ehehe pati nung sinasabi niya sa tech na pagkatapos ng each song eh patayin yung ilaw hehe

They stayed in Discovery, Ortigas so yung mga taga call center fans from Telus had a glimpsed of them. Maaga silang umalis kaninang umaga bound to US, so there'll be no Boracay sighting. Hehe...

hey guys! fun and inspiring night indeed. I was standing right across PG's amp for a few songs and got to peek into his board. He had 3 marshall amps, but only used 2 of them. anyway, here's a link to the board he uses now and his amp setup... (saw these pedals from where i was standing)

saw him step on his Detox EQ pedal for ballads, like 'Just take my heart' and got a really clean tone from his overdriven marshall (of course the other marshall is always set clean).
